the ironic thing about this question and the fact that no one sees it as unhygenic is the fact that a beard out in the open/in the elements is more likely to be dirty or have random crap in it than a woman with bushy pubes, yet so many like to make the IGNORANT assumption on here (nearly everyday) that a woman that's not shaved (even when neatly trimmed) is unhygienic. morons!
No. I mean, if someone has an unmaintained beard, that might make me think that they don't put as much time/effort into grooming, but not necessarily that they don't clean themselves.
My partner has a beard, and he washes regularly, and additionally, he puts time and effort into keeping his beard neatly trimmed, shaving some areas of his face/neck, etc.
No. even if they have beards, that doesn't really mean that they don't wash them selves a lot. I mentioned before that not many people in my place have hair. Most of them even look dirty, but they don't have beards. And when I do see bearded people here, they're pretty clean. :/
When I grew my beard out for six months, I washed it every single day (yes, I shampooed it and sometimes even used conditioner). I did not look dirty or unkempt even without trimming it.

Not them. Their beard on the other hand... so much junk gets buried inside and they don't even know it D:
Had a beard for a while its a bitch to keep - You prob wash your face and beard in shower then wash hair and beard with shampoo. Then you have to trim and shape it everyday. Cleaner who knows bigger pain definitely.
A well maintained/trimmed/groomed beard is definitly a sign of good hygiene I guess.
Never got that impression just never cared for beards.
Only if it looks unkempt and gross. Otherwise, no.
