What are good ways to loose extra weight/ water weight?

Hi! it would be nice if I lost the extra weight on my ''gut'' and tone up my thighs and stomach. Do you have any tips? It's embarrassing and it would boost my confidence/self esteem level extremely (it being one of the main reasons they are low). Your advice is appreciated. (p. s. I've started doing simple work-outs like sit-ups, squats, and Russian twists. Do you have any other simple work-outs, that don't involve equipment? sorry a bunch of questions)
