How much do you work out?
011 Reply- +1 y
I'm trying to do thirty minutes of something a day so far...
- +1 y
Ok I will...
- +1 y
I'll get it up to 90 minutes...
- +1 y
Deal.. should I alternate between legs and upper body?
- +1 y
Ok... I want to include thirty minutes of running every other day so I'm just going to do that along with my workouts...
- +1 y
I won't over do it then, maybe twice a week. Just want to have some running..
- +1 y
It's not about the time of the workouts, it's the intensity. You could lift 90 minutes plus... you're not gonna see any gains if... A.) You're over training (You're in fact actually destroying muscle), B.) you workout for a long period but take long breaks.
What Guys Said
Did that guy really just get MH? He didn't even help and half of his advice was terrible. Do you still need any help?

well I felt like the question died and he seemed the most helpful... I need to start small cause I‘m not really buff yet...
- +1 y
Do you work out everyday?
- +1 y
Look to gain muscle you need to gain weight. So basically you need to gain more than what you'll be loosing. Therefore meal plans are a must. Try taking in 40-60 grams of protein and same for the calories (depending on your size). The times you eat are crucial as well- best are during breakfast and after workout. Why? These are the times your muscles are hungry for nutrients. Only then will the other workouts prove successful.
- +1 y
Ok 40-60 grams of protein breakfast and after work out got it...
- +1 y
Thanks very much!
- +1 y
Well I want to do about an hour every day for four days a week of upper body exercises. You have suggestions?
- +1 y
I'll just try random stuff and see how I do...
- +1 y
ok got it!。。。I don't want to over-work myself, I'm going to take it easy at first but work up from there...
- +1 y
I'll search those up right now thanks..
- +1 y
Oh gosh very specific ok...

4-6 days a week. I do a full body every two days, abs the next, then running, jump rope, or some form of cardio.
113 Reply- +1 y
Awesome and I'm assuming an hour every day?
- +1 y
I honestly don't have a set time. I will do it till I'm too exhausted to any more, I try and listen to my body. I push myself, I just know when to call it quits.
It can range from and intense 30 minute workout with very short breaks, 30 seconds - 60 seconds max. Although it is usually just long enough to catch my breath and drink some water.
Or it can be an hour, I'd say I don't go over an hour very often. I do dead lifts, squats, flys, push ups, burpees, pull ups, curls, and some other exercises I don't even know the names, involving shoulder exercises.
Iv'e been seeing good results, hardest part is knowing how much to eat, and not go under or over my calorie limit. - +1 y
Yea I need to watch over my calorie intake now...
- +1 y
I take a scoop of whey protein in the mornings (Never really been much for breakfast, although it's very important), I will eat some lean ham, chicken breast, or turkey for lunch or dinner.
Drink lots of water, vegetables (Especially broccoli, high in vitamin c, is said to suppress estrogen levels therefore boosting testosterone and gaining muscle through the increased testosterone levels.)
Banana's for energy (Potassium, B vitamins) I read also that they're good for muscle building, something to do with the B vitamins (Co-enzyme participation most likely).
I will also eat low fat 2% cottage cheese at night. Cottage cheese is a casein protein (Slow releasing protein).
I cut out all sweets, ice cream, cake, candy, etc. A diet is no good if you're just throwing in vegetables while eating the above, and excess processed foods. The trick is to substitute say 1/2 cup broccoli for 1/2 ice cream.
Farm eggs with 25% less fat is good too, the egg whites contain protein, and the yolk cont - +1 y
ok good advice... I have no issue with sweets so I'm good with that...
- +1 y
The yolk contains nutrient dense vitamins you wouldn't get in non organic eggs. The organic eggs at the store I go to are only around 75 cents higher than regular so don't let the word organic scare you.
Fruits are good too, I like kiwis, apples, pineapples specifically and they're my favorite. Just don't eat too much fruit, because of excess sugars. Pineapple is also said to contain an enzyme called bromelain, said to reduce inflammation and hinder workout soreness.
I personally haven't really ate enough pineapple, or included it in my post workout meal enough really to see any difference. - +1 y
Yeah, or if you feel you've gone over your calorie limit for the day, drink a protein rich shake low in calories to satiate your hunger.
- +1 y
ok... Need to pay attention to protein, don't worry about sugar i honestly have lost the taste for it years ago
- +1 y
Yeah just don't go overboard with protein, or that too can turn into fat when consumed in excess. There are online calculators to calculate your protein based on your height and weight I believe.
''Iv'e honestly lost taste for it years ago'', good... wish I'd loose my taste for pizza because I fucking love it. - +1 y
ha yea cheese is good,,, Do you know where I can get those calculators?

I'm going to head to bed soon, but one more thing. Recovery is very important for building muscle. Muscle fiber is built when sleeping after tearing the muscle fiber (Resistance exercises, aka working out).
Don't do the same stuff every day. Some people do legs one day, shoulder the next, etc. I tried that, didn't work for me personally because it gave me less time for other activities I enjoy and I was busy going to school and working.
If you think about, people who do arms, abs, legs (People who workout a different muscle every day) are only working out that muscle group once a week for how ever long they workout. That's why I work them all out 3-4 days a week 30-60+ minutes. It's never as short as thirty minutes hardly, and I don't think it's over 60.
Hell I get so into it I really don't keep track of time all that much and am really just making 'Gestimates' lol. But Iv'e seen more results with the full body 3-4 days a week doing intense compound exercises than isolating one mus - +1 y
Isolating one muscle group per day. Any way, I'm headed to bed. Goodnight.
