Today I walked a total of 10 miles and in the evening I went for a 6 mile jog. Is that over doing it?

I just really want to lose weight! I feel so fat after winter! Last summer I was perfect. I also ate minimal and healthy today. I've been running a lot lately but not seeing results because my eating habits were bad. Not with junk food, but I'd eat loads of dried fruit and nuts which I think is bad because of the sugar and fats.
Today I walked a total of 10 miles and in the evening I went for a 6 mile jog. Is that over doing it?
