What are some of your tried and tested ways to become more happy and at peace?

since I've been down sad anxious and overly worried for no to very small causes lately. my mind is a battlefield with lots of constant thoughts and worries. i think i should take up mediation and sign up at a gym. have u ever felt this way and how did u overcome it?
