Fish hurts my stomach terribly, can I eat Japanese food?

Im going to New Jersey next month on the 9th with my grandmom and staying for a month, she's gonna let me go to the mall alone and there are several Asian restuarants from what i understand (She doesn't eat at them though, she isn't into Asian food) There is a Japanese restuarant in particular and I've never had Japanese food but i really want to. Only problem is raw fish or fish in general tears my stomach into shreds! Is there a specific Japanese dish I can request that won't hurt my stomach so much? A dish that doesn't contain fish at all? THank you :D

Sure. For example, you can usually get chicken, beef, or veggie teriyaki, or chicken, beef, or veggie udon (thick noodles).

In terms of rolls (rice and seaweed paper wrapped around other ingredients), most Japanese restaurants will have vegetarian options. Sometimes they have ones that have chicken or beef. If it's just fish that bothers you (and not all types of seafood), there are many options that have crab or shrimp.

Well, I love me some hot udon soup with karaage (Japanese-style fried) chicken, or pork ramen :)

Japanese food isn't all sushi but if fish bothers you don't try sushi. Do you know where in NJ? I'm just curious because I live there

Oh I've been to the Cherry Hill mall a couple of times. Don't worry about it. There's a lot of restaurants there that aren't Japanese

Well most Japanese restaurants don't just sell sushi so you shouldn't have a problem with it

Ok sorry. My favorite Japanese foods are chicken teriyaki and beef teriyaki. Pretty much every Japanese place has them too
