I know this is common around the times people have periods, but I get extremely depressed around those times and the thing that suck is that I don't know Why I'm depressed in the first place. Maybe there Is a reason behind it, and maybe not, but sometimes around these times, my depression gets too much. Last time, I tried hurting myself for the first time. After that time, I felt so shocked at myself and ashamed that I told myself I wouldn't go to that level ever again. I want to get help and become a healthier and happier person, but I don't know how to talk to people about my sudden depressions and I'm afraid of ending up crying in front of them. I know that a lot of girls experience depression and other negative feelings around their period times, but I'm afraid that some day I won't think consciously and harm myself again. How do I stop getting depressed around these cycles?
You need to secrete endorphins. Exercise is a great way to do this. As well as massage therapy, meditation, and having sex. Chocolate and spicy food secrete endorphins as well. The reason people self harm is because pain causes th endorphins to kick in which cause euphoric highs so try and make healthy euphoric highs.

That's how I felt literally all day today. I don't feel really sad, I just feel empty no matter what I do. I try to just accept how I feel (or don't feel) and just do things like normal.
