I went to sleep the other night at 930 PM and woke up at 7 AM and it was great.
I had total uninterrupted sleep and I put my cell phone on airplane mode in the bathroom to charge with no one to bother me.
No electronics in the room. Bliss.

try and cut back the time by 5mins at first then keep going back at you own speed until you get to the right that you want to fall asleep
What are you doing in the last few hours prior to bed time? (Your desired bedtime I should say)
And are you active?
Listen to classical music. It really does help. Preferably Mozart. :)

I suggest not taking a nap or do something really tiring and go try to go to sleep an hour before the time you want to sleep
You need to just do it. Take ceritonen (that's not how you spell it). Adjust your body clock.
