My dental isn't valid/effective until next month. Can I still see a dentist right now and have them "charge" them next month?

Sooo my dental will be effective on 7/1/2015. Could I go to the dentist today, get work done and have them bill the insurance on 7/1/2015? I heard from a friend that you can pay cash and once your insurance goes through, some places will refund your cash payment and bill the insurance?

Your insurance is not valid till July. Any work performed prior to then is not covered, regardless of when the bill is sent. And no reputable dentist will lie about when the work is done. Some dentists will give a free exam, though they may often not be the best dentists, not the best prices for other work. But If you can get an inexpensive exam, they can schedule you for working on your problems so that it will be done right when your insurance becomes good.
