Girls, I have my period but I want to go to the beach and waterpark... What do I do?

I'm going to the beach tomorrow and the waterpark a couple days after. I just started my period today but I really want to swim. I've been told I am able to use a tampon. The thing is I have never used one nor know how to put it in and I also heard that a lot of women died from Toxic Shock Syndrome cause by tampons. I'm really scared to use one... Any advice or suggestions for me?

Hey gals! I learned for to use a tampon and am pretty comfortable using them now! And I was able to swim today too and was perfectly fine (-:

For some weird reason, my flow ALWAYS stops when I am in the bathtub? Like submerged in water.. not so much in the shower, but in the tub or the pool, it just stops? I have heard others say this happens to them to. You may not even need a tampon. Sit in the bathtub and see if it stops.

If you want to actually be in the water a tampon would be your only option. They have videos on YouTube that will show you more about how to use them. And as for TSS, you should be fine as long as you switch out at least every 5-6 hours 7 at the most.

lmao if many women would die from TSS then tampons would be banned. Just follow what it says and you should be fine, really.

They just have to make us aware of the consequences and that is normal.

I think two people in all of history have died from tss.
I've worn tampons for 12+ hours and nothing has happened.
