You can suppress our immune response using steroid based creams which work in temporarily getting rid of the symptoms. Or you look at causative factors... diet (look into an alkalizing, plant based, vegan diet) and look at all your bath/cosmetic products anything that you use on your skin that may be absorbed and irritate it, (SLS, petro products, etc). I use African black soap which helps with when I have acne and many people say it works well for eczema too.

Go to a dermatologist. Prescription is only way to go. When I was young I used an ointment called protopic. Worked great.
Get some corticosteroid ointment on it and wrap it up in cling wrap overnight.
Clingwrap makes your skin sweat, which opens up the pores, which allows it to absorb the ointment much faster whilst protecting it from stuff which might make it worse.
