Yesterday, I was cycling on a lakefront trail and got cussed at by two women. I had passed them on a hill (with ample room and warning). THAT WAS SO UNDESERVED.

Do you also hate cyclists?

... no, I don't hate cyclists. If I'm biking on a shared trail and give the pedestrians ample room, I don't see any issue. I do get irritated with how some pedestrians have had the nerve to lose their shit after we did pass them, saying we should stay on the road or something of that nature.
As we passed them on a SHARED trail. -_-

I used to ride my rode bike and BMX bike almost everyday. There are two types of cyclists in the world. One understands that you are nothing more than a person on a bike among vehicles on the road so you get the fuck out of the way. The other thinks they are a car and own the road and they are pieces of shit.

I was just saying in general, but as for a bike trail i can see why an old lady would be pissy about it. They are just old and are afraid an inexperienced biker will ram into them. (Not saying you are inexperienced)

Bicycles are actually considered vehicles by law. That said, cyclists SHOULD keep in mind the weight differences between them and a car.

In many places, it's illegal for cyclists to ride on the sidewalk, and without bike lanes, they have no choice but to share the road.

On a shared trail walkers and joggers have to know to expect bikes. I'll ring a bell about 50 feet away if I'm about to pass from behind them. Most of their reaction is probably from the surprise of your presence.

Cyclists sharing the road with cars are the most rude. They set themselves up to be in an accident way too often.

Bicycles are legally considered vehicles, which is why they have to use the road and not the sidewalk.

I believe the asker was referring to a multi-use trail where you might find joggers, walkers, dogwalkers, families with strollers, along with bicycles, skateboards, rollerblades and even electric bikes and cops on motorcycles. So I'm thinking this was technically neither a road nor a sidewalk.

No, we like cyclist no matter where their from
where i live they have a park called Mingo Creek Park
just year ago they put in a bicycle trail and if anyone comes
to Pennsylvania near where i live they would love this park
it's Native American territory but Yeah the trail is restricted
to cyclist and people can walk on the trail and even walk their doggies
but it's shame people gotta be so ignorant and selfish makes no sense,

I've been buzzed numerous times from behind (which is scary as hell). I was sideswiped by a pickup truck, landing me in the ER with multiple abrasions and an injured shoulder. I haven't touched a bicycle in six years.

I never got the same workout in a gym that I did on a real bike. At my peak, I was riding 30 miles in two hours... Three or four days a week. Then the accident happened and I lost my nerve to ride here again.

-they are in group, taking two lanes, blocking all traffic at 15 mph (it happens often).
