What is this darkness, almost scar between my breasts and HOW CAN I GET RID OF IT?
I've had a darkness in between my boobs and almost wrinkle looking things for years. And it's getting to the point of not wanting to go swimming because I feel insecure in a swim suit because of it. It's just starting to annoy me like crazy. I don't know how to fix it or what it is. I exfoliate all the time and it doesn't seem to go away much. Sometimes it's almost gone but lately, it hasn't been fading at all and it being hot outside now, I'd like to be comfortable. I am almost sure it's a scar from scratching there a LONG time ago in like 4th grade. And over the years of trying to exfoliate the heck out of it and stuff, I feel like I may have scratched it more? I don't know. But someone please help me :(

  • It would be best to see a dermatologist about it. It may be rime to have a dermatologist check your whole body. Eventually various things that start out benign can become a problem and a dermatologist is the one to judge that. Even a general physician usually defers to have a dermatologist check you out. You can get a whole body check as a baseline and have that mark checked out specifically.

  • It's most likely a birthmark, I thought at first your bra might be causing some form of laceration but you said it's been there since 4th grade.
Either way it's not a big deal, if you want an actual treatment talk to a dermatologist.

  • Maybe your bra is too tight. Do you wear push up bras? It could make scarring tissue if you wear wrong size bras... :( and put vitamin c cream before bed it helps lighten the scar tissue. :)

  • It looks like dead skin. Scrub it hard everyday for a few days with a loofa or some coarse material and see it that helps. If not I hear rubbing lemon on it makes dark spots fade

  • It looks like a birth mark? Maybe try tanning it and the color will be less noticable. Or there's always makeup. But if it's not a birthmark you should see the dermitologist

  • try retin A. I don't know if it will help. You could bleach the skin there but I know nothing about skin bleaches...
Is it bad that I want to touch them?

  • Yeah, looks like acanthosis nigricans.

  • That skin pigmentation is usually caused by friction over long periods of time. It’s very common for women with bigger bootys get that same pigmentation between their cheeks because they rub together more. So that other comment about it possibly being your bra could be true

  • It looks like acanthosis nigricans to me. Ask your doctor about it.

  • Could that be birth mark?

    Exfoliate more if not, everyday.

  • Don’t even worry about it. He does nothing to detract from your breasts. I am sure that you are beautiful.

  • What the hell? Is sexy. Keep it.

  • Maybe you're boobs come together and chafe? I really don't think it's that noticeable and I don't think it necessarily looks all that bad.

  • I have you had a doctor take a look at it, the doctor probably give you the right advice.

  • Slight pigmentation... maybe a bit of sun, there...

  • It looks like you may have a condition called post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation, which is a darkening of the skin that can occur after skin inflammation or injury, such as scratching. This can be exacerbated by excessive exfoliation or sun exposure. It's important to have a medical professional examine the area to determine the exact cause of the darkening.

In terms of treatment, there are a few options. First, it's important to avoid further irritation or injury to the area. You may benefit from using a gentle, fragrance-free moisturizer to keep the area hydrated and reduce inflammation. Sun protection is also essential, so be sure to apply a broad-spectrum sunscreen with at least SPF 30 to the area whenever it's exposed to the sun.

Topical treatments such as hydroquinone, retinoids, and azelaic acid can be effective in reducing hyperpigmentation. These should only be used under the guidance of a medical professional, as they can have side effects and may not be appropriate for everyone.

In some cases, laser or light therapies may be recommended to target the pigmented areas.

I recommend scheduling an appointment with a dermatologist who can examine the area and recommend a personalized treatment plan. They can also address any concerns you may have about the appearance of the area and provide advice on how to care for your skin overall.

  • When you "scrub it" and it "goes away" how long does that effect actually last?

  • diabetic sign? you should drinks more mineral water and take healthy diet

  • It can be from bra thats my think

  • I actually get this a lot. It helps to clean the area with feminine wash. The use of vinegar helps as well. I was told it is a yeast infection of the skin

  • I don't know how old this question is, but I am going to answer it because people deserve to know.

This is 100% a yeast infection between the breasts.

    • 100 percent wrong. This is more like a dark and hard scally skin. Yeast infection more like reddish. Very diferent.

  • I have this too. It could be due to obesity, diabetes, or cancer of an internal organ but before I go all webMD on you... it is probably just scarring from constant rubbing. If that is the case, your bra is leaving that mark. Go braless more often or switch to sports bras instead of ones with wires and that middle piece for between your breasts. The scar won’t go away entirely but depending on what works for you, there are different oils you can try such as vit C or vit E or even stretch mark stuff like Bio Oil. Good luck.

  • Hey, I'm not sure if you ever got your answer for this. So I'll give my opinion. It looks a lot like my skin between my breasts. I went to a dermatologist and they said it is Acanthosis Nigricans. It is a thickening of the skin. They prescribed me a calcium lactate cream that i used 2 times a day and it eventually sloughed off. I comes back occasionally, especially in the summer months.

I would still go get a confirmed diagnosis from a dermatologist if i were you.

    • 100 percent right

  • I have the same thing. I really don’t no what it is but I tried to clean it and it still looked the same

  • I have the same this my is kinda rough, itchy and a little red. But mine is my eczema and it just started there

  • I have it too and I am trying to figure out how to get red of it. Honestly so frustrating because there’s a lot of things I wish I could wear but I’m so insecure about it and my chest. I get acne in my chest and I sweat a lot on that area as well. Maybe it’s sweat that create tiny pimples and dark area. Mine started in 11th grade and I also didn’t have those wrinkles either... I got the wrinkles first and then the dark area... Probably just have to keep washing it.
