I pretend like I am another person when I am in an uncomfortable situation?

IF YOU ARE TOO LAZY TO READ THEN YOU CAN ONLY ANSWER THIS QUESTION: How do you cope with anxiety and stress in certain moments?

I will try my best to explain this ^^ I noticed that when I am in an uncomfortable situation or get anxious or stressed, then I tend to pretend that I am another person. For example when we are getting results for an exam and I am nervous, I imagine how I am someone else who is about to get informed about my grades?
I did some googling and found out about "Dissociative identity disorder". But it is not that..
I mean isn't it good that I have my own ways to cope with anxiety and stress? Or is it not normal because a healthy human is able to deal with negative feelings?
Does anyone else have something similar to this? I am really interested.
