What does it feel like when you get injected with an I. V shot for oral surgery?

So I found out that I am getting some teeth pulled (not my wisdom) just general teeth that need pulling out. So, they said I need an I. V, and it will put me to sleep. What happens? Do you wake up loopy? Whats going on cause im scared o_o.

Yeah i think it's crazy they want put a IV in you to remove wisdom teeth
when i had it done all they did was numb my gums and remove the tooth
i think putting someone to sleep to take out their wisdom teeth is crazy
but they do monitor you and it won't long to they take out your wisdom teeth

Thanks! I am getting 7 teeth pulled, then once im older ill get my wisdom out. Hopefully after I won't act all weird.

Just a pinch from the IV. Once the push the sleeping drug into the IV you'll be out before you can count to 10.
When you wake up you're just tired & become more & more awake. A bit slower then when you get up in the morning.
We are all afraid of the unknown. That's normal. You'll be sleeping through most of it.

Wow an iv huh... when they cut my wisdom teeth from my unbroken gums all the did was shoot some novocane into my gums... you will feel groggy and disorientated when you come out of it since the me will still be in your body

Thanks! I was so scared. I'm not afraid of needles, in fact shots don't fase me, and I have had teeth pulled before, so it honestly doesn't fase me. Its just that I have never been put to sleep before, so I was concerned. But thanks!

Yeah no biggie... they'll put the iv needle in you and start the drip and you'll start to feel tired... and next thing you know you're in slumberland

Haha, cool! They also said I would be on a diet of Chef Boy r d, and spagettios, and noodles. I'm just nervous about my reaction at the moment. I guess I could use the half hour nap, lol!

I'd say some good soups are in order... some chicken w stars (the condensed one with small chicken bits you can swallow) or some bisque type too (butternut squash) is acceptable to eat. You'll also probably have to rice numerous times a day with warm water and salt solution.

Lol you need medicine and i imagine that medicine is pumped into an IV drip so you crash. Or they may just have you breathe in some air. Either way its gonna feel fine. I recently had surgery on my ankle where i was under for about 1.5 hours. No biggie. I just felt really loopy after.
