I've never heard that sports bras need to be broken in. I think if it's uncomfortable for you, it's probably the wrong type or size. Or it's just poor quality material (especially if it feels scratchy/makes you itchy or doesn't feel like it's molding to your body like it should.)
If you don't think you can take it back (or don't want to,) just go to any higher-end sports store (Jack N' Jill, Nike stores, REI, or even Victorias Secret) and ask them for a fitting. It's kind of a pain to go out of your way for a fitting in person, but it's worth it.

MMmm does it fit right? My first sports bra was too tight but I wore it anyway because that's all I had. Either way I still got used to the feeling of it. Part of the uncomfertableNess, for myself at least, was that it made me feel super exposed. That went awayeventually. I don't know how long. Now I know how to tell if they fit (and it's really not hard to find one that fits) and there isn't a break in phase. It's all in your head cx you'll get over it soon enough.

you're supposed to break it in? lol i've been wearing them for a while now and not once have i had to break one in. it might be too small or just not the one for you. try on some more in diff sizes and find one thats comfortable.
I try to stretch them a little before I wear them because they are so VERY constricting? but I guess they are just doing their job.. smashing your boobs down so they do not bounce all over the place when you're working out?
Usually it takes a week. So just wear it around the house to break it in more.
My sports bras don't usually take any "breaking in" so maybe it's to small
It's true, it becomes more loose eventually
