I never have and would never, I value and respect my body way too much. Some of OnisonSpeaks YouTube videos on self harming/substance abuse/eating disorders basically speak my thoughts on the subject... though it seems mean, and of course there are a few exceptions, a lot of these 'mental illnesses' are brought around by the 'sufferers' themselves in order to gain attention, or just because they've heard about it and somehow glamourised it in their heads. At the end of the day I don't think we can deny that most of these 'sufferers' are white, middle class teenage girls in developed countries and I think that fact tells us something. In my opinion, you need to be happy and comfortable with yourself because you are the only person that has to put up with your truest self 100% of the time, you need to be content with yourself and try to better yourself, not drag other people into it. God, there is literally half the school with self harm/depression/eating disorder/anxiety issues and really the majority of these people have too much time on their hands and need to find something to do to find purpose in their lives. If we give them attention they will just get 'worse' ... so I don't 'deal' with this person any differently. I know this might be controversial, but it is my belief.

I self harmed when I was younger, more of an experimenting, to see if it actually worked but it didn't do anything and I never did it again.
But this year, I did it so bad, it's scarred my arm but no-one knows about it apart from close friends. It did help a little bit and the main reason was because I hated myself, didn't feel good enough because my one true love left me so he could sleep with other women. I haven't done it since because my depression and psychotic episode ended and I didn't want more scars.
People who harm themselves are stupid and ungrateful!
