Guys, What foods are good and bad to eat when you are trying to put on muscle?

I really like going to the gym and staying in shape. I've been at it for more than a year now and I go every day but even though I eat healthy, I don't really know about foods that help your muscles or things like that. I want to make my diet part of my daily routine and maybe some day become a personal trainer or nurtitionist.

What foods are good/ bad for your body and how do you know how much of them you should have? Im guessing it has something to do with your weight and your workouts?

Haha this probably sound pretty clueless to some of you who have doing this for while now but I want to get into it as well so anything you have to say could help. Thank you!!
