I did no food at all for a week, just tons and tons of water. I have a chronic illness of the intestines whereby when they get inflamed, food becomes my enemy. It helped with the calming of my symptoms, but then it triggered blood sugar issues and I had to stop pronto and went to eating really small meals again until my symptoms subsided. You first get hunger pains after like the first day, major headaches, you may crave certain things like salt/sugar. Then you become really weak and lethargic. You have zero energy to do anything and as your body is in starvation mode, literally, it does everything it can to preserve all your energy and strength, so sleeping is what you feel like or do most of the time. I wouldn't advise trying this if you have any sort of underlying medical conditions, are going to be really busy during the 2 weeks, driving, or without some form of supervision from a friend or family in case something does happen to you, but its possible while drinking a lot--gallon plus a day, and getting your electrolytes via Gatorade or Pedialyte. Warning: anytime you starve yourself, it can be potentially dangerous to your health.

A man who was stuck in his car in Deep snow, survived 2 Months with no food, @psychomonkey eating nothing but handfuls of snow.
You Need Beverages to keep your kidneys from shutting down. However, in 'Experimenting, I believe that you probably would cave in because you are Not used to this, and know what it is to have all of the food you can get right now.
Save this for a rainy day. In such a case as a disaster, I believe that you would find out soon enough, especially if you were Not... Prepared.
Good luck. xx
Yes, there's been many instances of people going 60+ days with no food. The human body has different ways of storing and utilizing energy. First your body uses carbs, then fat, then protein (muscles). Hence the fad diets of low carb diets, by starving your body of carbs you force it to the next available energy source, fat. Also, with ectomorphs it's important that they eat a lot of carbs since their metabolism is so fast that they'll use up any protein they take just for energy and then not have enough left over protein to build muscles (ectomorphs naturally have very low body fat so they "skip" that energy source).
So depending on your body composition you can survive for a couple of months without food, but then your organs start to shut down and the chances of a heart attack are drastically increased.
There's supposedly a rule of three - 3 months without human contact before you're pretty much officially mad, 3 weeks without food, 3 days without water and 3 minutes without 3 - and 3 seconds without internet for some.

Yes, but it isn't healthy for you. Water is what we cannot go very long without, and sleep.
Your body will start breaking down the fat in your body, when that is gone it will start breaking down whatever else it can. Muscle will go and organs will start to shut down to avoid unnecessary calorie consumption.Technically you could survive as long as you kept hydrated. However, you would not have the energy needed to do anything that involves any function beyond basic survival/life support, and there would be health problems you'd be dealing with very a long time after that. Basically you'd have to take an entire month, if not more, off of life.
I've seen people surviving on water for a month. It's definitely doable. My record is 3 days only :'(
www.survival-goods.com/.../The human body can survive up to three weeks without food (can differ based on original weight and fat on the body) but that's while getting a constant supply of water.
Wouldn't advise doing it, you'd have a lot of bad side effects.Yes it is possible. I've done it. But I wouldn't advise it.
You can actually survive about 40 days on just water, but that would be terribly unhealthy for you, I would not I repeat not recommend it.
Yes it is possible. You can last that long without food but not water.
pretty sure it's possible but i do not recommend -_-
I went close to a month without food only IV fluids. Mind you I was in a coma in the hospital, Still I lost over 1/3 of my body weight.
Yes but don't do that, you will feel horrible and it's very unhealthy
Yes but I wouldn't try it without a doctor's strict supervision.
I won't tell you the answer, but you should do it anyway.
it's possible, but you still need to drink water. it would be incredibly bad for your body though.
You can go 3 weeks without food, on average. But i wouldn't try it. You'll become deficient in so many different nutrients, you'll die of a nutritional deficiency before you starve, if you're lucky
Isn't it said that you can go roughly 3 weeks without food
You would think not, but I've seen it done...
I could never do it...I think it's been done.
Yes. You can survive for about 3 weeks. But don't try it. It will do much more harm then good
You might survive but you'll still probably have permanent health problems from it
not if you are obese.
