Also, it is by FAR the dirtiest imported seafood... I really don't eat it anymore... grosses me out. It's a shame too because I like shrimp.

If shrimp were truly the dirtiest seafood, wouldn't more people get sick by eating it? All foods have bacteria on it. As long as they don't have toxins that are heat resistant, cooking your food kills the threat. Eating raw foods like salads have a greater chance of doing harm than eating cooked seafood with some exceptions (oysters contaminated with red tide biotoxin which does not breakdown from cooking).

You'd be surprised where some of your domestic food comes from. More and more companies today in the US are growing fruits and vegetables directly from the dried up sewage taken from a sewage treatment plant. Yup, they take your shit, filter out the water, bake it and sell it as fertilizer to farms. It's full of heavy metals since they don't break down into anything simpler, and also a host of pharmaceutical products like hormones, antibiotics, that weren't destroyed in the processing. deeelicious.
