I used to take stimulants for ADD too and I found they didn't help my focus much either (was great for my depression, though). I asked my doctor to up the dosage because I thought more would be better but I ended up just getting more side effects (shakiness, heart racing, anxiety) and less effects. I ended up in a really bad place overdoing it on the amphetamines. If I could do it all over again, now that I'm familiar with the drugs, I would have just stuck with the small dose.
Be careful with the Vyvanse. It's not Aspirin. You can't just double dose if it's not working. 40mg is already a pretty significant dose. It's easy to overlook the effects when you're a newbie but too much amphetamine is pretty unpleasant.
Better talk to your doctor about it first. I used to take the same thing, I think I was on 60mg.
I felt like spiderman on that stuff. So focused and alert.
