1. You can't out exercise a bad diet. If you eat too much you won't burn off anything. Starbucks reward after running a mile? NO! Gatorade after a mile run? NO! No one needs Gatorade for a mile run. Not even for a 5k.
2. If you exercise at an easy rate with no progression, neither swimming or running with help. You MUST find progress in your exercise else your weight loss will also stagnate. Too many people do not bother with progress but does the same low intensity routine every day then cry and weep they haven't lose weight.
3. Both are good exercises. I do both routinely along side cycling and strength training. Swimming costs money to enter the pool.. my area is 3 dollars per day. Running is free. Cycling requires a bicycle and high road awareness for safety. Strength training can be done for free using body weights and children's playground equipment.
in my opinion, strength training is best for most people because it's easier to track progression. Far too many people settle with their pathetic 12min mile times or they think jogging and walking for an hour is the same exercise as running a 5min mile.

I like swimming. It's easier on my body and its known for exercising the whole body. But I'm a freak of nature and have ridiculous lung space. You can combine them even if you're bored and walk through the water at like shoulder height! That shit is hard. But I admit I don't struggle with weight loss in the slightest. It happens for me if I sit and do nothing without drinking soda.
Swimming is the best exercise. Burns fat, builds muscle. In order to swim you use every muscle in your body.
Why don't you do both? Pesonally, I like them both!

Either, done in large amounts, can burn tons of calories.
I'd go with the one you enjoy more, because you're going to do a lot of it.
The one you stick with is the better choice.
All things considered, I might suggest swimming for the reduced injury risk, and increased likelihood of being able to do it for decades. Runners more frequenly can't run due to injury.Get a treadmill its much better, don't go running off into an accident or a car wreck stay at home be safe and shed pounds, thats what i do but im not trying to shed
im trying to gain and tighten upBoth are good. Although swimming uses every muscle in your body if done everyday a small amount of fat is preserved because the water is colder then out body temp. Lap pools are about 78 degrees (give or take)
im going to say swimming, because you have to use your arms to propel yourself through the water, whereas with running they are just swinging around.
I prefer swimming, I'm not a professional runner so I'd probably do more bad than good
dieting is better for losing fat. excercise only does so much
to put that in perspective, a good diet is 90% of weight loss, excercise 10%Swimming would be better because you use both arms and legs :)
Swimming!
It's just not stressful at all and it's a workout for the entire body!Running: burning fat.
Swimming: building muscles. ☺swimming is better in terms of calories burned per unit of time!
If you're planning to shed fat and get good muscles, swimming is the best bet 😊
If you run real hard, I'd say run. Otherwise, they are about equal. It depends on how hard to run/swim.
For myself swimming & it's not as hard on your joints as running
Swimming burns way more calories than just running.
cycling. there's no comparison. next would be swimming. at the consequence of gaining muscle though.
I'm assuming swimming, moving both your legs and your arms. 🏊
I think swimming burns more calories.
I like running because I can't swim!
Technically... Flying.
Both are amazing!!!
