When I go to the gym, i'm not there to look at who looks lost or who looks like a pro. I'm there to work out and make the most of my time there. and I'm sure most people are the same... if there's anyone criticizing, it's most likely a low percent of them, and those type of people are most likely losers that don't even take exercising seriously... and are just there to chit chat and pretend to "work out".
The only people I do notice, are the ones that tell me I can't use "that" machine cause they're using it... and they're not even on it! :/ ~fucking annoying! ~ sorry for cuss word... but it's sooo annoying! .. usually i'll just move cause I have not time to argue~ like Bleh~ ...
but other times it's like "okay you can continue using it when i'm done". ... and they better not even ask me "how many sets?"... cause... "4!" ... .. "of how many?"... "two HUNDRED!!" >;|! ;p! and then they get this face like they hate me... o well. :D!

oke noobie, i was like the same thing when i went to the gym for the first time, but after i learned the machines i just preset what i was going to do before i went in, such as going on this machine for 30 mins then move onto this one type of thing and basically ignoring anyone else that is there. so at least you look confident and know what you are doing in peoples eyes, people are only their for one thing and everyone is doing the same thing, in my experience people will get to know you without talking to you, you just see each other several times to the point we actually give each other a little nod when we first enter to day hi without actually talking and disturbing everyone. all the guys in there are huge and muscular and im a baby Groot, growing >.<
This is only a problem because you're making it one.
Everyone had to start somewhere. All of the people who know what machines or weights they're going to and how to set them had the awkward stage where they fumbled around a bit. The important thing is: NOBODY CARES. If they are there for the right reasons, they are focused on their workout. If they are there for the wrong reasons, their opinions hold no water.
If you are unsure what you should be doing, ask one of the employees. When I joined the gym, I asked for a tour of the facilities and guidance on using the unfamiliar equipment.

it all depends on how physically fit you are. for a girl im not sure what that means but for guys how much you can deadlift/squat/bench is how you get cred. also knowing what you're doing but in terms of looking lost i think people just assume you're new to the gym/don't care
People only really notice new people when you see a stick armed person putting plate after plate on the barbell for the bench press. It's like watching a train about to crash you know someone's going to have to go pull it off of them after it drops on them immediately after they lift it off the rack...
Hahaha what a noob... just kidding. It's fine really. I still pretend to not know things in the gym, so I can get some "help" from them lady trainer, receptionists and/or just them girls in general. It's like an ice breaker for me yeah?
Tbh I don't see why people would care. Get your workout in and leave. Simple as that.
Random s/o to my dad for building us weight room in basement and tell us ur lift stats OP
I'm sorry, but who cares? So what if you are?
