SPOILER: Pic of hunk (phone autocorrected that to junk) below: So I get on the frickin' treadmill and after a few mintues another girl comes, and gets on one, next to me. While we are both exercising, I notice that she keeps looking at my feet and at my treadmill monitor (where the speed button is). She increased the speed several times on her treadmill and starts moving faster. And still frickin' keeps looking at my FEET! DA FUCK LADY?
Is the gym a race, is there an award for which ever person clogs the treadmill's belt with their sweat the most? Cause' if there is, baby, it's on!
Lol.. I see this a lot. Guys try to do that with heavy weights next to me. They are subtle about it but you both know what's going on lol. People always trip out because I lift so light lol. No ego at the gym. I get better results curling a 30lb dumbbell rather than jerking around 70s.
@Accipiter I lift lighter than anyone in my gym. I'm just at the point where I focus on contracting the muscle very slowly and squeezing all those muscle fibers every rep. It's an intense focus of mind to muscle connection for me. Right now I bench 135. I squat 205. Deadlift around 215. Those aren't my max outs obviously but that is the weight I typically work with. When I do dumbbell flyers I grab the 15lbs lol. Curls are 35 lb dumbbells. People look at me when I put on my weight training belt thinking I'm going to be grunting and tossing 300 lbs on the bench press. I always get weird looks lol.
I do this as a form of making myself work out harder. If I see someone get on the treadmill around the same time as me I make it so I run faster than them and I won't get off the treadmill until they get off it first.
Some people see it as a challenge or like they have to be just as good as the others. I've had similar happen (trying to keep up with me) but it's stupid because they're putting themselves at risk. You should only do what you can do, not try to match others.
She sucks in life so she needs her little confidence boost and bitchy gossip brag about you being slow

Sounds like she's internally competing with you. I'll admit I've done this before, so I'm prob that girl lol. I look at someone who is either similar to me or has a shape I admire and try to keep up with or go harder than them.
Yea it happen to me before he keeping look at my chest lift weight then I take time off I notice he get to ready lift weight chest wait for me to lift. I start to lift guess what? He and I lift weight at same time! We start laughing and high five.
People do and think tons of things in the gym. It's because they're bored, would be my guess. I know i do that too, think of all the non sense in the world to make exercising less torturous.
