Whey is a muscle builder, its protein from the whey in milk before its processed. For strictly weight loss, it won't do much for you because it's not a metabolism boosted or a fat burner.
That being said though, building muscle is a good way to lose weight in addition to distinguish and cardio. Muscle fiber is 2x denser than fat so if you put on a few pounds of muscle while burning fat, most people won't notice. I'd recommend trying some sort of resistance training because muscles need more nutrients, and therefore burn more calories than fat cells do.

whey helps supplement for those who can not , or don't have the time to consume all that protein. It has less calories per gram of protein I think , than even chicken breast.
I think it'll help you lose weight if you replace your meat protein with whey. Plus I find it cheaper if you buy from warehouses/ walmart lol.

Whey protein helps fill in the gaps between meals, to supplement your protein intake, it will help you build muscle as you lift heavy and requires nutrients to recover and build your muscle fibers back up and grow. So if you want to "get toned" yes, lift heavy and eat/drink protein!Well while your trying to loose weight you also want to retain muscle because it aids in burning fat. Protien is basically muscle food and it gives you energy for working out.
Its used more to repair brokem down muscle tissue. If you want to preserve your muscle while you lose tons of fat take BCAA which is a complete protein.
