Oh man... where do I start? Fresh in my mind right now is the New Year's Resolution crowd. Just this huge influx of people who have no concept of gym etiquette, just taking up all the weights and machines and just space in general. Obviously I encourage anyone to work out and I'm not mocking these people, I understand they don't have a clue at this point. It's just aggravating because it fucks up the regulars' routines. If I felt like I'd still be seeing them there in four months (or even four WEEKS for that matter), I wouldn't care, but you just know in your heart of hearts that the guy in jeans, a polo shirt, and Crocs in the weight room probably isn't someone you'll see more than a couple times, so it's frustrating.
Right after they leave, if you live in a college area like me, are the packs of frat bros coming in thinking they're going to start lifting this week and be super jacked for Spring Break in three weeks. These are the best ones for taking up a bench or machine you need while they text and take selfies, and try to one-up each other regurgitating some workout plan they read in Men's Fitness when they were in line at the supermarket yesterday. You better not need to bench press when these guys show up 12 deep, it's the only exercise they know besides bicep curls😂😂😂
And in the #1 spot for the umpteenth year in a row: old guys whose confidence in their nakedness doesn't coincide with reality. I'm not stoked to see naked dudes walking around regardless, but whatever, it's a locker room, I can handle it, we're all guys here... but at the same time, WE'RE ALL GUYS HERE, put your fucking pants on in a timely fashion, no one wants to see that shit. But something happens when you hit your 50s apparently, and locker rooms apparently just call out to them, begging for them to stand around hanging dong for ABSURD periods of time while discussing current events, with a complete disregard for whose face they stick their trash in. GTFO with that bullshit😒
The loud noises some of these fools do, like they're trying to take a shit or go super Saiyan... It's like dude really? You don't need to make so much damn noise.
1. People dropping weights and grunting crazy loud
2. Guys hogging 5 sets of weights
3. People playing on their phones in the squat rack forever
4. Girl walking around half naked taking pictures of themselves and never working out
5. Guys who wink
6. Sweaty people who don't wipe off their machines
7. People saving machines with their water bottles
When I squat 120+ lbs and everyone near me stops what they're doing to watch.
I can literally see their heads turn in the mirror (which is directly in front of me) and they stare for a good few minutes.

nothing really annoys me. not even if a person is on their phone and taking forever on the bench or machine. idm, I'll go work out something else. I'm pretty zen when it comes to the gym.
When there's a group of like 3 or more dudes all using one machine and there's no other copies of that machine and they take forever and sometimes none of them will be using it and they'll all be talking. When you have that many people someone should always be on it otherwise there's too much of a break between their sets and they aren't even getting a proper workout and they're just wasting other peoples time who are waiting to use it.
People who leave their bags or sweatshirts on a machine and then walk off for like 5 minutes. If they take more than that I freaking chuck their stuff to the side. They can't just claim something for an extended period of time and not be using it.
I'm just thinking, would segregated gyms be a good idea?
As in a gym for guys and a gym for girls.
I can't think of anything annoying in the gym I went to. Everyone was nice, friendly and kept to themselves.
But I do hate it when people urinate in the swimming pool.
People claiming to be using equipment others are waiting for, while they text their way through a frivolous, casual "workout"

I don't really care about the douchebros, they can just do their thing. What annoys me at the gym is the girls with push up sports bras and practically nothing else, trying to look hot for the douchebros and taking selfies for Facebook.
When girls spray TOO MUCH deodorant in the changing room and you can barely breathe!! Seriously if you're afraid of smelling then take a shower.
there's a super creaky weight machine + all the guys are bunched into one corner lifting weights and checking themselves out in the mirror whilst like 5 people are on cardio machines even though there's hundreds of cardio machines
People who don't clean up after themselves. So gross. Like, I'm not gonna wipe away your perspiration for you. I ain't your momma.
The old men in the locker room that takes 30 minute shits and absolutely decimate the entire area. You either get upper cut by the stench when you first walk in. Or the worst is when you're in the shower and they blow it up. So you're hurrying in the shower holding back chunks because all the steam in the locker area amplifies the smell of ass and shit.
People who take the treadmill next to me when all the other ones are open! Annoys me so much.
I'm a weight lifter and it annoys me to no end when people don't wipe down their stuff. I don't want your sweaty ass germs on my seat or weights

What annoys me most at the gym? not much... haven't been attending one for enough time for it to annoy me, Id say...
It actually annoys me that all the cardio stuff is on different floors than the weights and seperated by all the locker rooms and the climbing wall.
Also it's way too crowded
People who use one machine and put their outfit on another one... you have to beg them to remove it if you want to exercise :o
Basically, everything. I'd rather work out at home. Shame I have no place for a heavy punching bag, then I really never would go in one.
That it's so expensive and far away. And I'm too lazy to go there.

I go the the YMCA and there is a constant problem with underage people being in the adult locker rooms, causing damage and just being rude little assholes in general.
