Diet could be a factor to a lot of things, but in this case, it's probably not as likely. It also depends on where you live whether it's way too hot or cold and you've already consulted with a hair specialist and they have said to try this and that conditioner and special shampoo, but nothing seems to work. You could always try changing your diet, but I don't think it would really matter at this point.

Do you use not or cold water when you wash it? Cause hot water, although it feels great, dries out hair. Go with mild water.
You might need to get rid of some length to get rid of the damaged parts. Sorry.
You can try a deep moisturizing hair mask, but I think you've passed the point of that being helpful.
If you're not getting enough protein in your diet, your hair will be awful.
You should get your ends properly trimmed. That promotes growth. And it's not as much length as you think. Maybe try leave in conditioner?

Apply hair oil every 2 days before sleeping at night and then wash it with shampoo and conditioner...
Do this every time you apply hair oil..
And your hair should stay smooth..you should try co washing where you wash with conditioner only in order to make hair less dry
