Muay Thai vs Navel piercing what should I do?

I want to get into Muay Thai but I have a navel ring (I've had it for about a year or close to it now)... I'm very worried about it if i were to go into it. I plan on calling the place soon about it see what they think and maybe getting a rubber piercing not metal for fighting but I'd love to have other peoples opinions or advice.

consider taking the ring out if you really want to train Muay Thai, its good shit.

You're gonna need to remove it before you start sparring. And given how much you'd need to spar to fight, say goodbye to it.

You can asking to see if you can tape it down! or take it out during your fighting. There belly button "retainers" too but I think that will defeat the purpose since you're fighting.

Best thing would be to take it off when your sparring. Since if you don't that's probably going to hurt so much when your hit there.
