You're gonna need to remove it before you start sparring. And given how much you'd need to spar to fight, say goodbye to it.
You can asking to see if you can tape it down! or take it out during your fighting. There belly button "retainers" too but I think that will defeat the purpose since you're fighting.
Best thing would be to take it off when your sparring. Since if you don't that's probably going to hurt so much when your hit there.
