You suddenly noticed receding hairline around 20 years of age? Does it mean you had a complete hairline before that? by the way you face, skull is geometrically beautiful, that's why you still look like a charming young guy. Generally guys (in their 20's) look like 40 years old - just cuz of that hairline! But you won't look the same after another 1-2 years.
Whatever be the cause, I am pretty sure you are going bald! I am being brutally honest. my hairline is much better than yours, like only 50% gone comparatively, and I am already panicking, I have tried everything except surgery.
You need to do something about it. Hairline recession is TOO SLOW to notice. After a year or so, you will look in the mirror and think - well that's way gone than before, why didn't I notice it before?
Don't fall for the marketing gimmicks of hair gain products, hair transplant is the only permanent solution. Minoxidil is the worst of all. It works temporarily, doesn't help in the long run, and it stops working after 1-2 years.
If you think that your hairline won't go back further and stay like this forever - you are fantasizing! The chances of this happening is even lesser than winning the powerball lottery!
Hair transplant is a pretty dismal solution. Unless you're likely to keep most of your hair (ie don't have aggressive hairloss), you'll just continue to lose hair around it. It will look weird. You'll be tied to more surgery. You'll be a perpetual slave to your hair. You'll have a 'huge scar', so shaving your head will be out of the question.
Best to refine one's diet and lifestyle (ie 'live in harmony with the cosmos' - which generally involves facing your fears and being a productive, thinking, questioning, moral member of society, and cutting out/reducing the processed, sugary and fatty foods (which likely screws up your liver and kidneys, and is probably why a lot of men lose their hair so quickly, or at least accelerates any genetic predispositions!). My highly subjective take!
@Levin I think you are saying this based on experience, maybe not personal? Still, hair transplant is way better than other hair-grow products in the market. Those are plain frauds. Do you mean to say that NOBODY is able to retain head-full of hair after transplant? What about the FUE procedure, that doesn't leave any scars. If I am not wrong, you are describing rare cases where guys keep losing nearby hair. Generally it's suggested to go for transplant once the hairloss has stopped or is minimal.
by the way I have a strong genetic predisposition towards baldness, my dad went fully bald at the age of 28! I am so worried, I have tried keeping a clean shaved head. I am a 6'3" tall muscular guy, and with a clean head, I look like a classic movie villain! I need to maintain hair somehow to maintain my normal looks.
It looks like you have some temple recession to me. This is called MPB or male pattern baldness and you look like you're about an NW2 or NW3 (norwood scale). It's caused by a hormone called DHT that shrinks the hair follicles over time. I'm your age, and I've got the same thing going on (since I was about 17 or so). I decided to get treatment for it and started on minoxidil foam and finasteride, which have been effective for me. Talk with your doctor about this if you're interested. I also started buzzing my hair shorter as its not only easier to maintain, but also makes the recession less noticeable.
I've found that most women do not care about this in the slightest, and you shouldn't let this affect your confidence. I understand the frustration, I've dealt with it myself, but the good news is it's totally harmless and can improve with treatment.
Maybe you are if you have lost many hairs. To check whether you are balding or not do this: See whether there are growing more hairs in your back neck area and is it getting covered or whether you're side burns are growing fast than your top. If so then this means that you are balding. Don't worry there are many tricks to stop balding.
Yeah you are. Stop worrying about it. It'll get worse with worry. If your dad's bald you'll go the same way anyway.

I suffer from male pattern baldnessa and that right there is a receding hairline my friend. Start treatments or you will be bald in a very short period of time and the ladies won't find you atttactive anymore.
