i have a really bad canker sore on the upper right of the inside of my lip (really sorry if this is confusing!) and it's extremely painful and it hurts to talk or yell from the pain of it and it is making the right side of my mouth on the outside numb and tingly. My left side of mouth is fine but when I put my finger lightly over the right side it is a numb feeling! Is this normal, this has never happened to me before. I've gotten canker sores before but never this bad before!
Could try swishing your mouth with hydrogen peroxide 3%.
I've gone to the extreme and put clotrimazole 1% cream (antifungal) on it. Cured it but that's only because it was a yeast infection. Can't swallow that stuff, it was on my lower lip so I pulled it forward for about five minutes so no saliva could it, then washed it off afterwards.

Drink some black tea no sugar or no milk in it and it will help. You need to go to the dentist it could be absecss which is not good.
Don't poke it, swish with salt water, and if it's really bothering you, go see your doctor.
