Doctors on GaG: please tell me wtf is going on with my eye right now?

My left is acting up since like yesterday. It feels thick and it gets watery or it was earlier. I have to blink a lot sometimes in two's. When I look really close in the mirror at my eye it seems like a weird film/oil swirling around in the iris. And it's blood shot. There is a tinsy windy ache here and. there but it's not bother some. I used eye drops, and washed my eye several times and I thought it would go away over night but it didn't. I'm scared and I can't stop fretting over it. I'm going crazy. What's going on?

I am not a doctor and I can't diagnose your problem, but I recommend that you immediately stop washing your eye out. You're more likely to contaminate your eye than anything else. You probably only had a viral infection, but you probably have a bacterial infection now.

How red is it? It's probably a microp, happened to once. Go see a doctor, they'll treat you in like 10 minutes but if will take a few days until it's back to normal.

It's just more bloodshot then my other eye.

My eye got more bloodshot every passing day, and eye drops didn't do a thing. Went to the doctor, he said it's a germ or something, gave me a couple of eye drop products and some eyelid lotion. Few days later my eye was back to normal.

This does not come from me it comes from my younger sister was in medical school third-year Cornell. She states that you have an infection and need antibiotic drops. Drops that are over-the-counter will not work.

I think you may have pink eye, the doc can give you antibacterial eye drops to fix it. Hope this helps. :)
