Anyone know the science behind this?
Why do my fingernails grow faster than my toenails?
Anyone know the science behind this?
Well I remember my friend said it has something to do with the circulatory system circulating nutrients from the food we eat flowing in our bloodstream. She said that the fingernails get the rapid growth edge because the blood pathways to fingernails technically cover shorter distances from our heart (that pumps blood) compared to blood pathways to our toenails.
Your feet get more wear down and arnt as exposed (thatd be my guess) because I think a lot of people are that way
Basically your body is building more cells in certain area more frequently than others. It's normal and and all good. I got the same issue as well. When I wash dishes or don't clip it my finger nails turn to wolverine in a week. Toe nails , meh. Body throwing proteins in different departs but has its favorites.
Thanks for your answer my good friend
For whatever it's worth I read somewhere that Nails grow faster in water. So if you think about how many times you wash your hands versus your feet you can see why.

Probably an overgrowth of cells in that area, however it's only a guess
Because fingernails grow faster than toenails.
