Vegans "push" their agenda on people because we care. We care about every single animal that is slaughtered every day, we want to save lives, so we raise awareness and talk about the issues at hand. We care about the environment, so we push veganism since it is the best diet for the planet. Animal agriculture is the leading cause of greenhouse gas emissions and environmental destruction, so we do our best to discourage use of animal products. Unhealthy eating and the overconsumption of animal products is also the cause of (or at least linked to) 15 of 16 top killers in the US. Over a million people died in the year 2014 from diseases that could have easily been prevented or even reversed with a whole foods, plant based diet. We care about people, so we do our best to get this information out there. We just care so much about humanity, animals, this planet, that we feel the need to do our best to help. This video may help you get a better understand of why vegans act the way we do. We aren't trying to be annoying and there's no sinister "agenda". We just want to save the planet and everything on it.
I don't know either. Maybe cause they love animals and they would do what mother do to those who eat their babies? I don't know lol but i hate this typical behavior of vegans as well. I always tell them that the reason i will never become a vegan is to not satisfy annoying people like them. And i will never, ever date a vegan. Life has enough problems without having to worry about overpriced and un-tasty vegan substitutes for animal products everytime i want to Cook for my boyfriend and myself. Or worrying about finding vegan Restaurants. Life is enough of a bitch.
You can't say that all vegans are like this.
It all depends on the type of person actually.
Just like some meat eaters go 'boooo vegans/vegetarians, you don't know what you're missing out on by not eating meat!!' the same applies to vegans and vegetarians. They are simply passionate about not inhumanely torturing animals just for them to be eaten. Some people are strongly opinionated, some aren't. It's not just vegans, meat eaters and vegetarians can also be like this. Again, it all depends on the person and how they were brought up/their personal beliefs.
So they can feel like they are better than everyone else. It is pretty much why some Christian's will have sex with a different person every week, and then still bash on a gay committed couple for sinning. It isn't about being a better person, as much as it is feeling like you are a better person than others.
I said "some Christian's" not all. I am not picking on anyone's faith. I am talking about a certain type of person, and just needed an example.
i think it's because they are passionate about their belief and want to tell people. i just let it go in one ear and out the other. don't really see why people get pissed about it. just ignore them

I don't know, but I have known several who were literally bordering on psychosis. Not just about their vegan, save the earth, create less waste agenda, but about everything. I was giving one a ride home once from a study session, and when he found out that I ate meat, he asked me to pull over at the next traffic light and let him out, because he refused to be in the same vehicle as a 'killer'. He called me a savage, and when I was looking for a safe place to pull over and let him out, he got so hysterical that he literally rolled down the window and jumped out of my car and INTO oncoming traffic. Just one example of how extremist many vegans are. Granted, not all are like that, but I agree with you that many of them push their agenda too hard. And a lot of them seem downright unstable.
Some vegans just need to feel like special snowflakes about what they eat, that's why.
However I know plenty of nice vegans. There are just some self righteous assholes in the world (i. e Freeleethebananagirl) but that could be sai about many groups outside of vegans.

They're just super passionate souls who wanna make a difference and stop the cruelty. It's true that the methods they use to achieve that aren't always the best, but at least they're trying. Not all vegans push their agenda on everyone though, so you shouldn't generalize.
Because being vegan is what gives them their sense of self worth, if you challenge the value of veganism it's like you are telling them they are worthless.
Let's face it, it's hard to be a good person, to love your neighbor as yourself. Not eating animal products is easy by comparison. Psychologically it's kind of like the sort of self-mortification religious people did in the middle ages.

I'm surprised with how big a thing this has become. Then again, given how obsessed people are these days with saving animals, partly because of how anti-social we've become as a society, pets have become peoples best friends. So of coarse when they see you eating a big mac they'll go ape-shit.

They see themselves as morally superior usually. They judge others by their different cultures which is bigotry. Not all of course but many.
Here's the thing, ANYONE who has strong convictions in their beliefs, is going to want to share and spread their beliefs, because said people believe their belief system is better than that status quo.
Don't know I would imagine it has to do with self righteousness since it borders on zealotry. Plus most of their arguments that I have seen are invalid.
Lierre keith is a fucking psycho who never actually went on a vegan diet, she has said she cheated on dairy etc it's bullshit vegan gains did a good video on her.
I have no idea, but their holier than thou attitudes are annoying as hell. And no, they aren't all like that. My dad is a vegan and he doesn't act that way.

They think they are morally superior in my life, I have only met one nice vegan.
They think the world will be a better place if they do, but not all of them push their agenda. They just want their voice and ideas to be heard.
Like any religion, they think they are right and everyone else is wrong.
Pretty sure a couple of vocal vegan activists recently tried to climb mount Everest and died at camp, or something like that.
Because they have nothing better to look forward to in their lives.
