I'm just wondering if you have any good tips to tan/tanning without burning my skin off?
:) :) :) Thank you for your help and recommendations
It depends on how "White" you are; literally, I think. Brits and some northern European ethnicities are very fair skinned and usually burn and don't tan well. And, sister, you look like one of them. Lol! I Learned from a dermatologist that English/Irish/German (ic)/Polish people are most subject to Melanoma and Sunburn.
Go very easy at first. Definitely use sunblock of at least SPF 30, limit exposure time and gradually increase. "Roll your Bod" as they used to say down the shore. Be aware of you exposure. Don't fall asleep in the sun! Use Aloe/Aloe Vera post tanning lotions. Be careful as it's really serious to get a bad Sunburn - Emergency Room serious.
Eat foods high in beta carotene. Not too much but not too little do it right and your skin will emit a golden glow.
The picture below is proof and there's more before/after photos on the internet if you care to check out.
On the left is what she looks like from tanning out in the sun and the middle pic is before she started the study, and on the right is after she consumed foods high in beta carotene.

Wow that is so interesting, I did not know about that method :)
I didn't know about this either thanks!!😊
The pic on the right looks the best. She looks healthy and something out of ancient Rome.
Ironically, if you research foods high in Beta Carotene, the foods are similar to what ancient Romans would be eating because they weren't too high on wheat until the Christian period.
@GracefulCharm So it is similar to a vegetarian diet?
Meat and process foods were considered novelty and higher status in the ancient world. So yes, the main diet for most people back then was vegetables.
@GracefulCharm Thank you too for the very interesting history behind it too :)
Eat healthy, live healthy.
Women are so beautiful when they are healthy, and in better moods. Angry women are scary and a preview of what hell is like.
Take care of your skin, it's not healthy to tan that much or burn often, it's too much extremes. I would say spray tan or just a little bit here and there in the actual sun. Don't let it constantly burn you, it's super unhealthy and I wouldn't want you to get something awful from it.
Yes thank you for your helpful tip, no worries I'm not planning on extreme tanning or you thing like that
Your a real sweetie
You need to tan this way:
First time tanning: 20 mins
Second time tanning: 60 mins
Third time tanning: 100 mins
Fourth time tanning: 120 mins
And then you go from there.
Also, use an oil of some sort to make it quicker.

Im pale and I know how you feel. I use coppertone sport spf 100. Apply it a couple of times during the day if you're going to be out tanning through out the day. Applying it once is pretty much useless. If you do burn use aloe vera gel or noxzema. It really helps the burn and helps heal it.
My friend is the same way, and she use to be almost Twilight vampire pale lol but she could never tan without burning badly. So she began indoor tanning about 3 times a week and I would rub tanning lotion on her when we went tanning. I was super dark after about 4-5 sessions however my friend took longer, like 12 sessions. She looked burned a little but after it healed up, she had a really nice golden glow, even I was jealous
Try self Tanners I've been using the tart maracuja one and it's very nice...😊

Other than a tanning bed (I don't know how they work and I also hear they're not safe either really) you may just not be that type of person that tans. I don't ever, just burn. You look like a redhead like me? If you are be careful. We are much more likely to get skin cancer then others (we don't have the gene that fights it). Good luck.
Thank you so much you were actually very helpful :)
Hmm... I'm a white girl but I can still tan. Are you using sunscreen? If not that's maybe why you burn.
Yes I do use sunscreen :) I have to it's a must for me lol
No I am a white man that's super pale and can't take any more then 20 min in direct sun light without getting a sun burn
People have posted some good helpful things to help minimize getting a really bad burn, I am too pale lol
Thanks I will try too :)

I'm naturally kind of tanned and I burn like crazy even with sunscreen, I don't think there is a way to keep it from happening unless you use other methods of tanning :/
SPF50+ sunblock & sun daily for at least four hours. Apply it well & everywhere.
OR
A tanning bed.
OR
Both together
These gave my pale friend colour over summer.
You don't need a tan I like you just the way you are...
Thank you
If you're like me, the problem is how much time you're spending in the sun. Try going for walks, ten or fifteen minutes at a time everyday.
Go to a high end tanning salon. Use spray tan or oil tanning lotion and go out into the sun. It really depends on your skin type because some white people do tan naturally
Just lay in the sun all day burn and deal with it if you're that desperate to get tan. Its just quicker.
Do some research and eat foods that make your skin healthy.
Start with a tanning salon. The sun might be too intense for your skin to handle.
Why do you need tan? 🙅🏻
Because I like my skin looking tanned in the Summer :)
Do it very slowly.. build up to a tan.
You should just do spray tan, like KIM K did.
ye sun
Huh?
