Vegetarian (even vegan) people, how did you feel after switching your diet to a vegetarian/vegan one?

I felt absolutely amazing! Going vegan was the best decision I have ever made for my health, the animals, the environment, and even my appearance. I transitioned to a high carb low fat vegan diet and avoided processed foods and to this day, I still eat like this. Eating an abundance of clean carbohydrates (fruits, vegetables, oats, rice, etc.) is definitely key to feeling great on a vegan or vegetarian diet. Anyways, here's what I've noticed after going vegan:
-Abundant energy! I actually want to go workout now, because I feel so good, whereas in the past, I had to force myself to go to the gym.
-"Clean" feeling which I can only credit to the fact that I consume less fat which actually slows down the cells in your bloodstream.
-Effortless and amazing digestion, I used to have major digestive issues which have been completely cured.
-Increased iron levels surprisingly. Turns out that dairy actually inhibits the absorption of iron and anemia (among other iron issues) tends to run in my family.
-Cured my migraines (thank god!)
-I no longer experience PMS symptoms (except sometimes I cry happy tears for no reason lmao). I haven't had a single cramp since going vegan which is amazing because I used to stay home from school because of how bad they used to be.
-Period only lasts 4-5 days whereas it used to last 7-8 days, which was fucking terrible.
-Hair grows faster and has become much smoother
-Nails grow so long and strong
-My skin is always super hydrated
-I used to get stress-induced eczema, but I haven't had a flare up since going vegan despite being very stressed in college.
-Acne is completely cured. The only time I break out is when I eat junk food, but even then it's not half as bad as my skin used to be.
-Blackheads are gone
-B. O. is almost non-existent, I just don't stink anymore lol Same goes for my morning breath.
-I was able to run longer and with more ease for some reason and my recovery time has actually improved.
-I also experience less mood swings and I tend to be happier most of the time. I assume this is just because I no longer consume exogenous hormones from animal products.
-This might be a little inappropriate, but I also used to be prone to yeast infections and now I never get them. Also, even more appropriate, my boyfriend says I taste better lmao if you catch my drift.
-I lost weight without even restricting calories. I eat 2,000+ calories every day, eat as much I desire, and managed to go from 200 pounds to 175 and still losing.
No, I was actually paleo before going vegan. I've always eaten very healthfully, minimized processed food, only ate lean meats or hunted meat, I ate as organic as possible, I controlled nearly everything in my diet, and restricted calories to 1700, which I thought was healthy at the time. Paleo only made me constipated, made my digestion even more painful, and low energy because I was starving my cells of proper energy (glucose) and restricting my carbohydrates. I was consuming so much meat which is desperately lacking in fibre and water, which are both very important for proper digestion. I felt fatigued because all those animal products were filled with artery clogging fat.
So no, I was always "healthy". Paleo cured nothing for me.
I went vegan when I was 16. I have about the same amount of energy, I don't get tired so fast and don't gain weight during winter anymore. But if you're gonna gain weight or not complietly deppends on the individual. You don't become some kind of superhuman :P you might simply become more self concious of how much and what you eat which will help you maintain a healthy routine. And it lowers the chance of heart disease which is a good thing. I don't miss milk and eggs at all, especially since I realized it's chicken period... ew. But all in all I don't miss anything.
I become a pescetarian when I go on a extreme fight cycle. I go on a strict cleanse when I start and you'll be in the bathroom for awhile if your diet has been shit lol. You'll feel really light but I'll get really tired or have these headaches if I skipped a meat or didn't drink enough water, it was easy to manage after a few days. also make sure you eat your activity level.
I went veggie for an experiment about five years ago, I did the research to make sure I'd get the full spectrum of nutrients... I still felt like crap and missed meat. I'm a happy omnivore these days.

Much better since I went vegan 2 years ago. More energy, better appetite, I learned to love vegetables, my diet is much more varied, my weight stayed the same. I'm much healthier now.
I was hungry all the time and ends up gaining weight because I was always searching for snacks or something else to eat between meals
Was this with vegan or vegetarian though?
Vegetarian. I don't even want to try vegan. I'll either end up dead from starvation or 300 lbs heavier
That's not because of the specific diet though, that happened to me as well because I wasn't consuming enough calories. Plant foods are naturally low in calorie, so you have to eat higher quantities of food in order to get the same calories you were getting before. Don't blame the vegetarian diet for your lack of nutritional education.
I'm sorry my lack of nutritional education offended you so much.
I felt better because I digested better. But being very sporty, it was important to get enough protein replacement so I would not loose muscle mass.
Better. But vegetarianism is easy for me.
if you want more energy, go paleo.
