Why is it awkward to pee or have to pee infront of the opposite sex?

so I have had a UI for a few years (I just posted about it) and that has got me thinks two things.
1 why is it weird to pee infront of the oppisite sex
2 why is it weird to have to pee infront of the oppisite sex

I was out doing a nature hike with my girlfriend and about halfway there she said she had to really pee. Now I also had to really pee do to my UI. And she was surly enough holding her crotch and figiting a lot about 10 minutes later she just blurted out "damn! I am leaking!!" And she imidietly without warning froze squated and started peeing and I obviously tried to give her privacy but nope she invited me over to pee with her... This was quite awkward both seeing her desperate and seeing her pee I am not pee shy but it was extremely hard for me to pee just because of how awkward it is. And now for those of you that have peed outside it isn't a very quiet thing and I think that may have increased the akwardness level. Anyways this got me thinking two things
1 why is it weird to see the opisite sex desperate to pee?
2 why is it awkward to see the opisite sex pee?

now let me throw in a few things 1 I am a virgin and intend to stay this way till marige so maybe that was a adding to making it awkward this was also the first time I have seen her kinda naked. Now one more thing its not like we dont all pee and its not like we dont all get desperate to pee. So why have we been trained to think peeing is bad. You know (especially if you are pee shy) that noice must be avoided while urinating/defecting but why? We all do it its a natural body function... So why is it wierd? Feel free to share your thoughts and stories. Its just one of lifes cery weird questions?

oh okay sure, peeing in front of my boyfriend in more medically-related circumstances would be perfectly fine. I'm okay with doing it normally, too. Just prefer not to do something so private in front of him, or anyone really, on a regular basis.

Yea see I just see it as weird because everyone needs to pee why is there such a stigma around it... Here is my guess I think that because urine comes from more private wreas thats what makes it weird example if we urinated from our mouths I feel like it wouldn't be as alward and or taboo

There's stigma around it because most people don't want to frequently be reminded of the not-so-glamourous or sexy fact that their s/o also has the same bodily functions as themselves. Nobodies denying that everyone pees, but it's generally viewed as more polite to keep such private things to yourself.

I love both watching a girl pee, or being watched while I pee. I usually go on hikes with on or other friend too, but also just strolls on the beach. When ai have to pee I always pee in a position where she can see me if she wants, and when they do, I love it!
When a girl has to pee, I see if she tries to hide herself. If she does, I look away, if she doesn't, I try to make conversation so I have an excuse to keep my eyes on her.

Probably, it's just because the urine comes out of the same place where are our genitals.
So, whenever you need to pee, you have to expose your genitals to do so.

If the urine came out from other place (or if we invent something to pee without show the genitals), it would be much less awkward
