Do you think Pokemon go will be good for obesity?

People are walking like hell to find pokemons. Even people who never like moving out of house are getting out and walk long distances. Do you think it will help to fight obesity

Pokemon GO is such a shitstorm I can barely stand it.

First of all, only the first 151 Pokemon will be available. However, there have been rumours that future patches will include later generations, so it doesn't bother me as much.

The thing that DOES bother me, however, is the stupid excuse of a battling system. What is the first thing you think of when you think of a Pokemon game? Catching Pokemon to battle and trade with your friends. Why they decided to restrict the Pokemon battles to AI v Player only is beyond me.

But, that is nothing to say about the actual battle system. You know how Pokemon is actually a fairly fun game based around prediction and planning? In Pokemon GO, all you do is tap the one of two moves your pokemon can have, occasionally swiping left or right to dodge attacks.

Oh, and in what world does Thundershock work on a Geodude?

I was out yesterday myself with some friends. It really is incredible how many people are out walking and biking etc. I think it is really great to bring people together and get them out to explore locally.

However I don't think people will be moving nearly enough to get quality exercise. It may help to bring some more health, especially to children who may not even walk much in a week- but it will be negligible in the end, especially because I see this dying out for many after a month or two.

Walking will get you healthy not drop the lbs without portion control. and tgis pokemon app I've got grown as 30 yr olds talking about it lol. They should have a harry potter version.

My son had me driving around for an hour with this game on his phone! He's not obese at all but typical kid these days, he won't walk anywhere other than room to room or out to the car... he is going out after school today on his bike though but only because I'm working so can't drive him :-D

I doubt it will change much

you are hyped at the beginning and might go out more often, but after a couple of days or weeks it will be gone and you'll just check for pokemon outside if you have to leave the house anyway.

and if we're talking about obesity... it needs more than just a bit of walking to help with that

Exercise actually barley does anything for weight loss. Losing weight is 80% diet.
