Ladies trying to get fit how do you handle period cravings?

The week of my period is always an off or walking week for me. I have fallen prey to the days where I wake up with no cramps, work out and end up rolling in pain. With this drop in activity the logical decision is to eat healthy, sadly I do not. I do not go on a junk food binge either but a few cookies and waffles with too much syrup are my best friends on the first day. How do you handle your period cravings?
