What is it like to have splint on your finger?

Got into a fight with someone and bruised my finger a good amount. I am going to the doctors tomorrow. What is it like to have your finger splinted?

18 years MA, I stopped bothering to go to the doc for even broken fingers. All they do is splint it, tape it to the adjacent one, and give you ibuprofen or some such BS. Unless it's jammed or dislocated, and even then I just had a friend or instructor unfuck it, then see above. It's annoying, but it gets the job done. Don't be a tard like I was a couple times, trying to be a tough guy and do nothing though, or they heal all fucked up. To this day my left index looks twisted about an eighth of an inch toward my middle finger.

It's not all that bad, just inconvenient and sometimes you forget you're fingers wrapped/braced.
