It makes people look busy. Why do you need to ask? Hell, just think for yourself. If you are on a bus, in a room or whatever and you see someone listening to music or reading a book or whatever, would you be more or less likely to talk to them compared to if they weren't listening to music or reading? Same concept
With that said, I, like most, listen to music to hype me up

it's not, people just think they will be rude if they're trying to talk to you while you have headphones in.
it really doesn't matter i just tap them and they take them out and say hi.
When I still worked out at the gym, I was NOT there to talk to anybody. I worked out at 5:30 in the morning before work, so I was on a schedule and needed to get the most out of my workout. I listen to music to pump me up and keep me motivated, I ain't there to chit chat.
Yeah, thats a thing. I often put on headphones with the intent of keeping people from talking to me at the gym and on an airplane for instance.
I listen to Sword and Scale, a podcast about crimes. And also I don't like talking at the gym. I'm there to get my shit done.
To make the workout more enjoyable, and it kind of takes your mind off of it

Cuz music at the gym sucks. Plus I'm not planning on talking to anyone. Most people aren't trying to talk to anyone anyways besides the gym bunnies. I mean I've talked to two people who I knew and haven't seen since high school but that's because I knew them already. To me, trying to pick up people at the gym is kinda lame.
I always had this feeling that some people just wear headphones to pretend they're listening to something. But really they're just checking out the women lol. I mean sometimes you look where the headphone is connected to and they don't have a phone?
Otherwise, I guess if the gym music is too loud and not your thing. Also sometimes you get loudmouths who come in the gym constantly dropping weights that are too heavy for them with a dong and also sitting there chatting and taking up equipment.
But yeah I find it funny! by the way can u help me out? www.girlsaskguys.com/.../q2200664-why-do-girls-read-reply-later-on-whatsapp-even-to-friends-potentialIn the gym where I go you have to wear headphones if you want to listen to the channels they offer.
Both the sound of the TV's that are on, plus the radio channels, are broadcast via all equipment they have but you need to plug in your headphones.
Or some use them to listen to music from their smart phone. I don't.I don't wear headphones at the gym, I like to be fully aware of my surroundings. Can see why people do wear them though, music played in gyms tends to always be the same rubbish on a loop.
It's so I can hear the TV on the machine I'm using or the ones hanging around the gym. They wirelessly send the tv audio to little units you can hook up to to listen to it, and so it doesn't annoy everyone not interested.
"Is it really a thing, that headphones are a conversation block?"
Yes, how can you not know that? It's rude to disturb someone who wears headphones and a lot of girls wear them intentionally in public places so they won't get bothered by guys.Well my gym doesn't play trap music so I have to wear headphones to hear what I want while working out.
I like my running playlist. Keeps me motivated and into my run.
Also have my run timed to my playlist haha. What song and what distance I should be at hahaThe gym background music isn't the greatest... and sometimes I want to zone out and not be distracted by any females around.
Takes your mind off the burn, rhythm for cardio, helps with focus. I'm not inclined to move on girls who are blaring music and look like they're about to push out a kid. I wait for their rests between sets.
Music is huge part of the motivational aspect for me. When I did go to the gym, having my headphones was detrimental.
A and B for me xD also i don´t want to listen to people... i mean if girls would come and talk to me, i´d never wear headphones :P but it´s usually the gymrat dudes that force a convo.
I have a Gym at my Disposal, 24/7, and Prefer to Turn on the Boob Tube. xx
Listening to my favorite songs makes working out even more fun.
I have headphones in so I purposely don't have to talk to people. The gym is my time.
Unspoken law of headphones: one ear in means open to conversation two ears in means don't bother me.
I vote D.
I already feel self concious there.
The headphones will distract me and lighten my mood."B" but "A" also applies.
If someone tries to talk to me (other then can I work in, are you using this?) I just tell them "I CAN'T HEAR YOU"I use headphones for my music as well to be pumped.
But yes they are conversation blockers. I don't try to ever talk to people when they are listening to music.Gym music is notoriously shit. If I'm wearing headphones it's because I want to listen to my own music.
