BRACES OFF!

I'm getting my braces off in 1 week. Is there anything I should be nervous for? Does it hurt getting them off? I've heard my teeth will feel slimy..Is that true? Any advice will help

Yeah your teeth feel like, really, really smooth, it's really weird - it just feels different. Getting them off doesn't really hurt, from memory. I have really sensitive teeth so I always used to find my trips to the orthodontist really uncomfortable, but getting your braces removed doesn't really hurt. There's just some pressure I suppose?

I found when I got braces off that I didn't like how my teeth looked at first, I kept thinking 'oh my God, my teeth look huge!' You look really different with new, straight teeth so it can be kind of embarrassing. But then a friend took a photo of me and when I looked at that, I realized that my teeth looked good :)

heh. I had braces when I was 11, so I don't remember a lot about what it was like to get them off, but I do remember licking my teeth a lot. They felt really weird and smooth without the braces.

I just remember that my lips felt really big.. This was like, 13 years ago though, so my memory may be failing me..

It feels really good. Most people end up running their tongue alone their theeth because it feels so strange at first
