Sleeping disorder, please help!

I've always been a 'light sleeper', and as a child/teen I'd stay up late and wake up early, getting approx. 4-5 hours of sleep. But in the past 2 years it's gotten a lot worse, I've started a very dysfunctional sleeping trend, where I sleep approx. 1-3 hours per night. My father also has sleeping difficulties, so it might be hereditary, I just constantly feel restless. As soon as I'm facing stress or any issues, I can't sleep, although I feel tired. When I wake up I feel dead, with no energy and lapse of concentration in my classes. Does anyone out there have a sleeping disorder? I was just wondering what you think causes you're sleeping disorders or sleepless night.

Does anyone have any tips/cures for sleeping disorders (no meds)?
