Do you look at thinspo or watch thinspo?
And if you have good thinspo sites post them!
Well, I think it can be good, if used in a healthy way. If you have a goal to lose weight, and looking at other women who have nice bodies inspires you to do that, that's okay.
But, you have to be realistic. You need to understand that all woman have different body types, so your body might not ever look like (random celebrity or whoever) and to not have unrealistic expectations for yourself or beat yourself up for not looking that way. Further, you need to have the ability to understand what a healthy body looks like and what an unhealthy body looks like. Striving to look underweight is not healthy.
The problem most people have with "thinspiration" is that it's more than often associated with the pro-ana community. These communities are filled with women (and sometimes men) who are using unhealthy means in attempt to achieve an unhealthy body.
While I hate the term "thinspiration" because of the negative connotation it has attached to it, but I do have things that inspire me to lose weight or be healthy. Sometimes it's looking at someone whose body I admire, but I find seeing someone else's success with weight loss even more inspiring that that (for example, a youtube video/picture montage that shows a real person who went from say, a size 18 to a size 8).
Like the girl Alexis!??
She is definitely good inspiration.I don't know if you know about her,but when she was younger she was overweight, and one day she decided to do something about it and she did.She would take monthly pics and post them online on her blog. It's inspiring to see her now.You can't recognize her and she did it in a healthy way, with eating less and learning to love to workout
I don't know of her specifically, but she sounds like someone that would be inspiring in a good way. :)
Oh well this is her:

Thanks!
I love youtube and just search 'thinspo' 'thinspiration' or 'pro ana' (you don't have to have an ED to admire skinny girls).
I spent hours sometimes just browsing videos. Makes me work harder when I diet.
Good luck.
I'm not really sure. A few minutes on google revealed a couple of pictures. Some of the women in those pictures looked pretty good, and I have to admit, attractive, but the vast majority looked like they were starving, and definitely unhealthy.
There is definitely a difference between being slim/slender/whatever, and being genuinely skinny. Staying at a healthy weight is admirable, but the majority of the 'thinspo' I could find seems to have left that goal behind, and made being as skinny as possible a goal in itself, setting a standard that can at best be described as unhealthy, and are essentially advocating an eating disorder.
For all this talk about, and admiration of, self control it's ironic and sad to see how these girls are completely unaware of the disease that is controlling them.
It's nice to have self control though. It's honestly a high to know you worked out so hard for an hour or two to become skinny or if you skip a meal..and you get the "stomach pains"
It's like a high and there's nothing wrong with it so long as you have control over yourself
Most guys prefer girls like this: link and not this: link
...in the same way girls prefer guys like this: link and not this: link
The point I'm trying to make is that being healthy and fit is way better than being thin and stick-like. You should be looking at "fitspo", not thinspo.
I don't care what guys like. Some of us make decisions for ourselves
You may also want to consider that being fit has many benefits over being skinny. Your metabolism is always active, you have more energy during the day, you have more endurance while walking, and you can lift heavier objects to name a few. Why do you want to be skinny instead of being fit?
A person can be fit and skinny
True, though are the girls you're getting inspiration from healthy? I ask because so many girls on pro-ana sites are depriving their body of the food it needs and that's not healthy.
It doesn't matter if they are healthy or not.Their healthy isn't my concern, they are inspiration to look a certain way
I disagree, but suit yourself.
