How Much Do You Eat A Day?

Question

I'm talking about calories, about how many calories do you consume? Also do you eat 3 large meals and snacks in between or the 6 meals a day?

I'm particularly looking for girls answers, so could y'all list y'alls heights and weights girls?:) Gracias

I'm 5'3 around 125lbs(although I wanna lose weight) and I think calories are the absolutely enemy, I mean I love food but wish calories didn't exist, I try to avoid going over 1200 calories a day, I wanna know how much everyone else eats...

I don't have a fix plan on eating. Nor do I count my calories. I would say I'm more towards the 6 meals a day person. Eating more small meals is better than too much in one go.

Have you ever considered whether you have heavy bones? I am about 5'5 and weigh between 119 to 123lbs (it fluctuates). Frankly speaking, I have very heavy bones, I eat a lot, I love eating, I don't have very good metabolism rate, and I don't work out a lot (sometimes not much either because of school work). Personally, I don't think calories matter as much as the amount of fat and sugar we consume. Based on personal experience, although overeating calories such as eating up to 2000 calories for your weight everyday with high carbs meal will translate to fat (which I doubt you do so), fat and sugar (especially things with butter, mayonnaise, coke) are the ones that make you fat and weigh more very easily, not to mention, bad for your health. Have a check on whether you eat a lot of fat in your meals. Fat exists in a lot of the food we eat, just that we never really notice them (e.g. butter in sandwiches, high fatty cheese in pasta salads).

I'm not sure what you eat usually, how picky or non picky you are as an eater, my recommendation (purely on food regardless of whether you work out or not) based on what I do is choosing healthy options. I love to eat, I still have carbs in at least one of my meals, but I don't overeat. I will eat whole grain stuff (such as whole grain bread) rather than refined stuff (like white bread) if I feel like it. If I don't, that's fine as long as you don't eat carbs in big portions. Also, I eat a variety of fruits because it makes me feel full. I snack as well, sometimes chocolate (coz I'm a big chocolate person) especially when I'm stress, but I try to limit myself by eating fruits instead as a substitute (coz I have a sweet tooth). You can apply the same analogy to other unhealthy food that you crave and make smart choices :) Oh japanese rice is also a very good option if you can get any. I get very full very easily, though the calories are not high at all. chinese style porridge (minus the sauce, oily stuff, salt, chicken stock or preservatives) is also a good option since spring and summer is coming soon. It's not that filling, but it's very easy to digest. Some form of portion control will still be needed, but enjoy the food that you are eating.

Most importantly, don't get the calories concern get to your head. Sometimes the more you worry about it, the more you feel tempted to pig out. It's psychological. And it's a matter of choices, rather than the amount that you eat :) Good luck with it and feel free to type more if there's anything :)

Well I usually skip breakfast but I always have coffee in the mornings, I eat a really big lunch and I don't really know the amount of calories because it varies on what Lab I'm in (right now its Traditional European which can't be healthy with all the butter and potatoes) I am forced to try absolutely everything If I wanna learn, but its a heaping plate with occasional dessert. I eat a small dinner so I try to skip the protein there so I don't get fat cause I don't exercise. I am 5'2 and I am 125 but I have a booty so... I am doomed to gain the freshman 50

Oh and if you want to loose weight cut back on the protein eat only 5-6 ounces per day and eat 2-3 servings of fruits and vegetables and make sure you're not going over your recommended daily allowance of fats, cause from the data analysis I had to do for nutrition I ate 60% of my calorie recommendations and I had 108% of my fat intake ( I wasn't loosing any weight.) So my advice to you can go over 1200 calories but watch the things I mentioned.

I like this question, though I have no idea how to figure out the amount of calories. Didn't think anyone did that nowadays. The average for an adult male is about 2300, so I would put mine at anywhere between 3500 and 5000, depending on how much I exercise that day. Most of that I think you would find in the 1,5 liters of high-fat milk and 1-1,2 kgs of fish and meat I eat every day. I get a lot of vegetables, potatoes, rice, fruit and rolled oats, but I don't know how many calories are in that.

But in a word, I get *enough* food.

Depends what day it is. How to work this out? My diet consists of lots of fruit and veg and protein so I think mine would be much lower than most peoples. (Considering most people eat un-healthily.)

5'9- 5'11 not really sure and 135lbs which I know is light but my build is quite small. Although muscle definition comes on easily. during last year I was so ecstatic with my progress then some sh*t happened and I lost a lot of it. Just trying to stay really healthy until I have enough mind power to get back into weights.

I don't count my calories so I couldn't possibly tell you. I eat what I want for the most part and I seem to stay in that 130-135 range. I also don't exercise :/.

Umm it really depends on the day for the meal/snack thing. I don't usually eat breakfast, and if I do, it's a late breakfast - around the time some people have lunch...For lunch..again it depends. that late breakfast could be enough to last me till dinner time, while snacking a bit. I always have dinner, and I usually snack after dinner, or eat dessert late (like after midnight), or both, which yeah..that's bad. Also, going to university has f***ed up my eating quite a bit. Sometimes I'll just starve there, other times I'm eating something fatty there and then when I get home, I'll have dinner late. And then of course there's the cappuccinos and sh*t that are always available...

k yeah I eat a lot. So anyway I'm not really motivated to eat better cause I don't gain weight and I'm happy with my body, I don't feel like I'm fat (cause I'm not) and I don't feel skinny (which again...i'm not). I do know eating like that is bad for the long run though. So god help me to f***ing change something.

i eat a lot, but I wish I weighed less. I tried reducing cals in the past, but it never worked. I had better luck with things like lower carbs, carb cycling, various exercise, cutting certain things out of my diet, and even refeeds where I ate all sorts of non-diet foods in large quantities which actually did work and brought up my metabolism. what happened was it helped me break plateaus, because I initially gained a bit of weight, but when I dieted again, I lost way more beyond what I started out with before I refed.

i have always had a big appetite and reducing cals never works for me because it slows my metabolism way down then I just won't lose anymore past a certain point and then I end up binging.

also, I have had the most luck losing weight by eating smaller meals more frequently. I felt like it really brought up my metabolism and encouraged my body to burn fat, and especially prevented binging and cravings by keeping me full all the time.

A LOT, I'm talking about junk food & lotta cuban food & I eat super unhealthy & I love sweets & I'm constantly eating. I think if I add up all the major meals (not the snacks) I eat in a day it'll be 10 plus everything else but I'm very lucky to have a very fast metabolism so idt gain weight & I think your good the way you are :)

I used to count calories like no other but now I just eat when I feel like I should. I don't get hungry anymore because school constantly stresses me out.

My eating schedule is really f***ed up. I eat breakfast at like 7am, lunch at like 1pm, dinner at like 6pm with no snacks in-between. For breakfast, I'll have a bowl of cereal then lunch I'll have a turkey sandwich or a chicken wrap and then for dinner I'll just order in or go out with my sister or friends. I don't even drink water like a fish anymore.

I'm 5'6" and 120 lbs. but still not toned as I want to be. I've got time until summer though. Once I get these three research papers done I'll have more time to work on myself.

Ok I'm 5'5" and weigh about 135. I usually eat 3 meals a day, and I don't snack much. I don't normally keep track of how much I eat, but I calculated everything I ate today for you, and it is around 1400-1500 calories.

To give you an idea of what my meals are like, I'm gonna list everything I ate today.

Breakfast: A bowl of Lucky Charms

Lunch: A bagel with a little bit of pizza sauce and lots of cheese on it, carrots, and crackers with nutella

Snack: a Larabar (I don't normally eat snacks but somebody was handing them out on campus)

Dinner: some leftover chicken casserole and an oatmeal chocolate chip cookie.

So I'm 6'1 and I weight 140 pounds

On average I consume about 3,000-4,000 calories a day. ( I know a lot right) lol

I usually wake up around 9-10 am and go straight to school by passing breakfast. So my first meal in the day is at around 1 pm when I get out of school. I then go to work and after I get off which is around 7 pm, I eat dinner! Then I eat some fruit and chocolate and ice and popcorn around 10 pm as a snack!

5'7'' I eat about 5k cals a day. Most these people claiming to eat upwards of 4k cals a day aren't eating near that. People over estimate what they eat. Like that guy that said he is 140 and eats 6k a day. That's immposible. I don't care how high your metabolism is.

I don't really eat breakfast, maybe a cup of orange juice for breakfast.

for lunch I might eat something like a cup of noodle, which is about 300 calories

then for dinner, I might eat some fruits and maybe another cup of noodles, about 300 calories

i say I eat about 3 or 4 large meals a day and munch on snacks in between. I eat a lot of junkfood and fastfood and bagel sandwichs all the time since I work at bruggers surprising I barly gain weight though but I would like to gain at least 10 or 15 more lbs

I eat 7 meals a day and snack in between and by meals I mean heavy meals, not I had a slice of toast for breakfast and a sandwich for lunch... I consume at least 5000 calories a day. I have a terrible diet and eat a lot of 'bad foods'. I'm 5'11' and abit and weigh 145lbs. 27 and a 1/2'' waist though.

to know the amount of calories to consume, you should consider your activity level. if you are very active , you should consume more calories. anyway about losing weight , just don't use up your discretionary calories ..consume only nutrient dense foods and you have to cutt off foods with added sugars and fats. you have to combine that with physical exercise. make sure that the  amount calories you consume match the amount of energy you expend.

my calorie intake varies from day to day ..on days that I don't really get hungry , I consume around 750 -800 calories ..on some other days it may exceed by 300 calories ..but I make sure I don't exceed 1500 calories.  and am healthy as can be!
