I've noticed this too. All I can think of is that it must have something to do with men in their biological 'provider' role, and women in their 'nurturer' role. Successful men tend to be attractive to women because it shows that they can provide for their families. Men are attracted to more domestic women who cook and take care of the home because it shows that she can care for the children and hold down the fort while the man is away.
I don't personally hold very strongly to these traditional gender roles, but some people do and they don't realize WHY they feel that way. I guess it all just goes back to how we're wired biologically. As time goes on and things change, these stigmas are a bit slow to catch up.
My dude's a pretty traditional guy as far as family values go, I guess. But he can also cook, and is no stranger to staying home with his kids. I can cook, bake [and I'm good at it], I like kids and especially his kids, and I have a job, so as a pair we're pretty versatile when it comes to who can do what. It'll never be one person stuck doing just this, or just that. That being said though, he really likes that I can cook [though I haven't had a chance to cook for him yet] because his soon-to-be ex-wife couldn't, so he was always the one who had to cook for everyone, all the time, while she sat around and didn't do much. And I like that HE can cook, because that means we can cook together, and there won't be just one person who does all of the cooking in the house.

YUP!... no matter what men say, I have yet to find a guy, who with a plate of shepards pie in front of him, doesn't start saying how wonderful I am, and how amazing my cooking is..etc etc.
Personally, I think its because they didn't have to make it themselves, which turns them into appreiating idiots..lol
They think, oh yummy in my tummy..eat eat eat, then suddenly go into way too much adoring of it, that I think its their way of saying...look you've cooked it and I love it, so well done you can stop now, you've done good. (i'm actually just being sarcastic, but some of this is true, I see men do it more then women)
Men seriously appreciate almost anything you make, so long as its edible and tastes *kinda* good.
Anything I've ever made, the guy has loved, and raved about. It doesn't matter if its a bit too spicy or too salty, you made it, and he's eating it and loving it.
Every time I post on Facebook about something I'm making, and least 4 dudes like it.
But yes, aw weaponzero said, the men were like "oh yeah lapdances are cool...but OMG the food! be my gf!"
A while back, a user on here named madmisskelly posted a question related to Valentine's day. She said she wanted to cook a special pasta dinner for her boyfriend as well as give him a sexy lapdance and then do all manners of sexual things with him. She also went into detail about her pasta dish.
The guys who answered pretty much ignored the fact that she mentioned anything pertaining to sex and were drooling over her pasta recipe.
Is it the way to a mans heart? No, not at all. Does it help him find you more attractive, no doubt about it. I personally like cooking myself, so I could care less if the woman does, but it would be nice if my girl were to cook me a nice dinner out of the middle of nowhere. But I wouldn't say it's the way to a mans heart. Just a really nice benefit to have :)

I like Subway, breakfasts spicy food and oriental food, and squid. And I can get that on my own, LOL. So nah, not for me. Anyway, the girl I'm in love with can't cook ^_^ And my mum can't cook, so its cool.
The way to MY heart is more simple than cooking. Good looks, good if not great personality, be smart and funny, drink beer and like NASCAR. Oh yeah, and love oral sex.
oh yeah :P if I ever get a Girlfriend, I hope she would enjoy cooking homemade food for me.
even if she was a horrible cook and very clumsy, I wouldn't mind... much XD
but really, I think it's nice for a Girlfriend to make food for a guy.
she's a healer!I'm not too sure, but thinking about it is kind of nice. I'd love to eat something a girlfriend made. Maybe it's not the way to a man's heart, but it's certainly a special thing to see a woman cook for her guy.
It isn't. Whoever said the way to a man's heart is through his stomach was aiming about a foot too high. . .
I think that some man who grow up in a home were they had a mother that was good at cooking having a girlfriend and or wife that can cook is like a comfort thing.
If he vagina is his favorite food, you provide him with enough of it... YES!
Yes, I LOVE eating my girlfriend's homemade food, because I feel like she is really caring :)
and thinking that she made a club-sandwich with her own beautiful hands, is a BONUS ! to the heart :DYes! Sitting down for an amazing meal after a tough day is just a really good feeling, and having someone who cooks just for you, and caters to your tastes is a great feeling as well.
yes! if a woman can cook for me, that's like 3 easy points on the 10 point attraction rating system
i figure its just a nice gesture, I cooked for my girlfriend and she loves it. she hasn't cooked for me, but has bought me food so just as nice :)
food is a way to the mans hearts
BUT I prefer if they can suck **** like a champ :)It's apart of the mommy Freudian complex. If you can cook, a part of him connects with you on a subconscious level like how he connected with his mom, if he had a good relationship with his mom. But that's only one aspect of the picture.
I can't cook at all and my fiancee loves it because he thinks a girl that can't cook is cute. He cooks me meals everyday and feels appreciated. He says he can't leave me because I'll starve. :P So I would say that idea is bogus.
i think so because it symbolizes that you're a good housekeeper who can take care of him and guys want to be taken care of
Showing you care for them (by food or any means) is defiantly a way to a guys heart :)
yes, so make me a sammich.
I don't like food that much...
yeah...a fat man's heart
No, but it could mean your marriage material.
