Eat protein. It's the most filling food and if you get a sugar craving, try having some fruit. It's way less calories than junk food.
Craving junk food usually means your body needs more nutrient dense cals, and that means proteins and some healthy fats.
Examples are eggs, egg whites, avocado, nuts, olive oil, tuna, chicken, lean beef, bison, fish, low fat cheeses, low fat yogurt. Stuff like that. You need more of it.
Replace junk foods with real foods and you'll lose weight because real foods and more filling and kill cravings.
Too much cardio can also cause sugar cravings, so switch it up with some strength training.
Eat really frequently because if you let yourself get too hungry, you'll crave junk.
Make sure to feed your body well with real foods because when it craves something bad, that means it's freaking out and trying to get something it needs, but it doesn't know where to get it.
It's really hard to want to eat junk after you have nutritious meals all day that fill you up.

I'm trying to eat healthier too so I recent went vegetarian, slightly vegan. I just went cold turkey for about a week and toughed out no meat or milk and almost no sugar (like 1 small treat a day). Giving up one thing trains your brain to more easily give up another. And once the original cravings pass you'll be better at turning down sugar. Also, after cutting out milk for a while you feel so much healthier. Then when you crack and eat milk chocolate or something you feel kinda gross which makes your brain do negative associations with sugary stuff. The milk trick really works because it's so common in sweets. Hope this helps!
It's much easier if you have a friend who's doing the same regimen as you, then you are accountable to each other.

Do not deprive yourself completely because if you do, when you do happen to have something with sugar you'll go overboard.
It's all about moderation. Diets won't work unless you're planning on staying on the diet for the rest of your life.Your blood sugar is probably a roller coaster right now and that is making the cravings so hard to resist. I am speaking from experience. Try eating more protein and fiber, especially first thing in the morning. This will help keep your blood sugar level and make it easier to resist temptation.
When you want sugar or something sweet eat something that is naturally sweet like fruit.
