I'm kind of in the same boat. I think that's what happened is that you projected your insecurities and self-doubt onto your weight and body image, and now that that isn't a problem anymore, you're still feeling unsatisfied. Something physical is pretty easy to change whereas something emotional takes much more mental capacity and emotional competence. I'm still working on it but I've got a good support system and a good head on my shoulders to allow myself to be consumed by my negative body image.
I would say find out what's really bothering you. What would make you feel truly fulfilled and happy? If you think your personality is lacking try becoming more aware of world events, politics, geography, key historical figures, art, sports, fashion, pop culture. Find out what interests you. Same with hobbies. Maybe yoga or kick boxing would be a good outlet and interest for you.

Get involved in your community, volunteer places, doing things you love. Start getting involved in sports or clubs, pick up a part time job that really means something to you and is helping people.
In order to feel like a good person you've got to act like one. Not that you aren't already but, you know what I mean. Really get out there, make friends, do things you love doing that help people. Hell volunteer at an animal shelter, help the animals, that's another great way to boos your self confidence and make you feel like you're taking care of something and helping out, making a difference.
Mostly just be you, and really go out there and do what you want to do.
