An excellent mystery thriller / horror like 'The Others'?

About witches, ghosts, magic, fantasy, vampires, lycans, (these last two - NOT freakin' twilight, or anything as trivial as that)...

...and I mean something that has gotten a higher mark than 6.0 on imdb...

Any suggestions?

Cronos, The Devil's Backbone, or Pan's Labyrinth (all are directed by the same guy) are all good. There is also Underworld. I can't really think of anything else right now... I don't watch these types of movies a lot.

The Shining is a great horror film, but I'm not sure it really fits with the fantasy criteria. Though there are ghosts in it...

Masters of Horror 'Imprint' - an hour long you can find it on youtube looks great but seriously messed up

That one got pulled from air because it's a bit gory it's directedby Takashi Miike

He's done a lot of gory films like Audition and Ichi The Killer

Imprint contains some torture scenes, bad accents and sometimes I went 'OMFGODWHATTHEF***WASTHAT!'

Oh I watched Human Centipede, the movie is really crap but the concept is more frightenjng than the actual movie, left disappointed but heard the sequel's gonna be even better

In my opinion they are true equivalents, so you are disrespecting it by calling them boring. Also given those movies are both long thrillers it's not my fault you can't sit still for 2.5 hours. Shutter Island is an amazing film and it's rated higher on your precious IMDB so I take it you have ADD or something.

When I start to watch something, no matter how long or boring it is I need to see it through. I've seen them whole. And I just said they're overrated movies.
