I can't lose weight!!!

im 30 pounds overweight and for 11 months I've been trying to lose weight only to lose 2 pounds then gain 5 this past week. I'm BEYOND frustrated that I cannot lose weight. I have NEVER had a weight issue before then after ONE depo shot 3 years ago I now have weight issues. I excercise 3 times per week, eat healthy (lots of fruits and veggies, water, no red meats, boil all meats and only natural sugar from fruits) has anyone else had this issue or know how I can lose it? I'm desperate. my doctor's been riding my ass about me losing weight

Well 3 times a week isn't enough, it should be minimum 30 minutes a day. You should be doing both weight training and cardio, but you can supplement with other things like walking, swimming, biking, stairs, casual activities to make a total of 30 minutes/DAY.

For food, that sounds good, but what about carbs? Almost any kind of grain will help you gain weight, even "whole wheat". Reduce or eliminate grain and sugar based carbs. Eat more vegetables than fruit.

Fats. The whole "fat causes fat" is a lie. Eat more healthy fats. Monounsaturated, polyunsaturated, saturated. Coconut oil, olive oil, butter, nuts, meat, all high in good fat. Good fats help you lose fat. Don't eat processed stuff or margarine or canola oil. hydrogenated, Unsaturated or trans fats.

Eating complex carbs as well as fruit is not a bad idea. Nutritionists recommend them for a healthy diet obviously. They are even supposed to be up to 60% of your calories. Carbs arewhere you get the majority of your energy from which powers your metabolism. If you want zap your energy away don't eat carbs. Really I wouldn't listen to this guy.

No it's not bad, if they're the right kinds, in proper quantities, and for maintaining (not losing) weight.

Didnt say not to eat fruit, said less fruit than vegetables, and vegetables should be the majority of your food. Plus, vegetables and fruits have enough carbs for energy and they're good carbs cause have more fiber and are lower in the glycemic index. How do you think herbivore animals that only eat grass have so much energy? Grains are high carb, even if complex.

Yes you need carbs. It's grain based carbs that are the bad ones. Complex carbs or simple carbs, doesn't matter much because both are high GI and heighten Blood sugar, one just takes longer. It's also what else is with the carb. Bread spikes your blood sugar more than fruit, yet fruit is a simple sugar BUT it has more fiber. Fiber is good. Fat is also good because it slows digestion, which counteracts high GI.

The big deal is counting your calories. People eat way to many calories even if they are healthly foods. To loose weight you probably only need between 1200-1500 calories a day. And you need to work out everyday. Three times a week is what is recommend to maintain your weight which is not what you want. So up the working out and count those calories and be careful to watch the portion size too.

Yup that is it. I'd add watch your carb intake. Beans, milk and yogurt count as carbs too. Also add lots of fiber to help you feel full. +1

they already know the issue and tested for everything under the book yet it all came back normal. if they knew the issue and could help me I wouldn't be asking how to lose weight lol

I am going through weight loss now. (I have had the some of the same issues as you.) I finally went to a nutrionist who put me on a very reasonable meal plan and I started walking everyday. First, I only walked a half mile/day for a week, then a mile, etc. Now I walk 4 miles/day. I lost 15 pounds the first month. I imagine I'll lose 8-10 during the 2nd month. The process is rewarding.

Women have a little harder time losing weight. The are a couple of reasons for this which you can read about on the Internet. Yes, it takes some determination, but I believe you can walk and eat your way to good health and a good weight. By the way, I am eating 1,500 calories per day. I could be on a plan where I eat 1,800.

Get out there more. You don't need someone to tell you that what you're doing is okay. It's NOT okay. You need to get your ass in gear and go from 3 days per week to 6 days. More cardio. Make it intense. Stop rewarding yourself with crap food. Only do it once per week. If you kick it into high gear you will lose 30 pounds in about 3 months.

Though, with the Holidays coming up that will be a challenge seeing as you will certainly pig out.

did you just read what I wrote? I'm not rewarding myself with crap food its all healthy. I will go from 3-6 days per week and I already do cardio. I don't celebrate holidays so its not going to be an issue for me and I NEVER pig out. all the weight is from the birth control shot I had 3 years ago so you wouldn't understand only assuming something which is not true at all

i am willing to listen and take advice. if I wasn't willing to listen I wouldn't ask lol. not sure what attitude you're looking at because there is no attitude just frustration. I've did it before too but I know after this shot it messes up everything in the body so it makes it extremely hard to lose it that's all
