A few days ago I got a small sore on the outside of my lip (its still pretty small and only somewhat noticeable). I was concerned but told myself it could be a pimple or maybe a cold soar. A couple days later I did come down with a cold and I have always had cold soars accompany colds, just never on the outside of my lip. Now, I have never been with anybody and I have never even shared a kiss. So, I feel like it can't be too serious. However, my doctor has told me I have a weak immune system and I wonder if I shared something with someone (maybe even unknowingly) who was a carrier of a virus and I managed to get it. I also know that cold soars are considered a type of herpes and 50-90 percent of people eventually get them. My question basically is: has anyone ever had a similiar experience? Basically, please give me your thoughts on what might be going on. I know its best to go straight to a doctor so please spare me those comments. I'm hoping I'm just being oversensitive to a touchy topic. Thanks for reading.
